AirForce Texan LSS
When AirForce Airguns’ customers asked for a fully moderated, full-sized Texan big-bore air rifle, the Fort Worth, Texas-based manufacturer listened. What resulted is the quietest version of one of the most powerful PCP air rifles in production.
Introducing the AirForce Texan LSS. With its 34” barrel and *updated TX2 valve, which produces 100 more foot-pounds of muzzle energy than its predecessor, it can hurl .45-caliber ammo in excess of 1,100 FPS at muzzle energies of up to 700+ foot-pounds, AirForce reports. And, it can do it much quieter than its older, unmoderated sibling. Before this, AirForce Airguns shooters desiring the same big-bore bite as the Texan with significantly less bark often looked to the Texan SS and its Sound-Loc System® technology. But, that option comes with lower velocities and muzzle energies that go along with an almost 10-inch shorter barrel.
“With the sport of airgun hunting growing at an exponential rate, the amount of feedback Airforce Airguns has received from hunters in the field has been nothing short of astounding,” said AirForce Airguns Director of Marketing, Cameron Brinkerhoff, in a news release announcing the Texan LSS. “With that, we have been listening to our market and found that hunters loved the sound suppression benefits of our existing SS models but wanted to achieve the same power levels as our non-suppressed, long barrel models.”
Whether you’re new to airgun hunting or are looking to add another hunting tool to your quiver, look to the AirForce Airguns Texan LSS, available in .257, .308, .357, .457, and .50 calibers. Its combination of accuracy, power and reduced report make it an ideal, humane solution for bringing home a wide variety of game.
*TX2 valve currently available in .45-cal. and .50-cal. Texan models only

I can't tell you what I like because I haven't been able to shoot the airgun yet. The tank would not take air and or hold it. The air tank was sent back to be checked. I haven'r received it back.
Things I would have changed:Check air cylinders before shipping.

How many shots per bottle fill?
That depends on the volume and pressure of the bottle, so we'll start with this 490 cc (29.9 cu. in.) bottle filled to 3,000 psi (200 Bar) and you shoot down to 800 psi (55 Bar). Because it is not regulated by a regulator with a plenum reservoir, the tank valve self regulates to the pellet mass creating a preload as it travels down the barrel. So, 3,000 psi on a 490 cc bottle contains 1,861 grains of atmospheric air at room temperature (r.t. = 70F), or 3.545 cu. ft. of atmospheric free air, if expanded out from the bottle at said pressure. Now, you're shooting it down to 800 psi, and the volume is still 29.9 cu. in., which mass would be approximately 502.92 grains, or 0.95795 cu. ft., so the difference of 1861-502.92=1358 available grains of air mass for the number of total shots from a starting 3,000 psi down to 800 psi. Now, what is your rifle's efficiency? Lets say 50%, which is not impossible, but highly improvable, so 1,358/2=679 grains of lead being hurled at 1 fpe/gr. Now, what fpe do you want from each shot? Let us say 10 shots at 67.9 fpe that means you would get 10 shots, but life is not perfect, so your first shot might be 25% higher and your last shot 25% lower, but cumulatively it would not surpass 679 total fpe. More than likely your efficiency will be closer to 25%, which is half of 50%, so your shot count would be 5 shots at 679/2=339.5 fpe total. If all shots were taken using the highest velocity with the most shot count, you would get 4 shots, but they would be very powerful and similar velocity shots that would be great for follow ups. If you are just pushing out pellets out the barrel then about 100, but they would not hit the wall in your room, and once in a while a pellet would get lodged half way out hanging out the crown. Air molecule velocity is directly proportional to temperature, and indirectly proportional to the square root of pressure (Bernoulli's principle, disregarding atmosphere height.) When calculating, use absolute values. Lastly, the laws of physics are not just really good ideas, and numbers do not lie, but you can lie with numbers.
Is this a TRUE .50 or is it something like .510 or .497?????
New to airgun. On the airforce texas LSS 45 when I'm looking at the different slugs and hallow point for the 45 most of the sites call them 457 is that the correct size till for my taxsa 45? Sorry if this is a silly question.
If you go to the 'Nielsen' site, (a good place to buy slugs) they say for the 'Texan order this round in .457'. If you have smaller 45 slug, if they don't just fall though the barrel I would think you can shoot them. If you are looking to buy some I'd just buy them in a .457. I'm just researching to buy right now so that's the best answer I can give you. I do have a Winchester 70-45. So I do have some of the smaller rounds. I might try and see how the do. But for right now I think the best answer is to stick with the .457.
