This Airmax riflescope from Hawke Sport Optics is a great choice for long range shooting, and keeps weight down with its lightweight and durable mono-tube chassis.
This Hawke Sport Optics scope has a mono-tube 30mm chassis providing all the added stability you could ever need for the punishing recoil of magnum airguns. It has a convenient side-focus parallax wheel in addition to a 4 inch sidewheel for easier adjustments.
The AMX etched glass reticle provides even more accuracy from your gun and is based on the 10x half Mil Dot spacing that is popular with other airgunner optics. This reticle features additional windage bars on the lower Mil Dots offering increased aim points for longer range shots. In addition to the crisply etched reticle, the red illumination control bypasses the more common switch for a stepless rheostat. In ambient light conditions, it's a much more flexible way to customize the illumination level to your shooting needs. If you prefer the solid black reticle, simply turn off the illumination.
The fully multi-coated lenses are waterproof, shockproof, and nitrogen filled for the best possible light transmission.

10 of 11 Hawke Airmax 30 SF 8-32x50 Reviews
I picked this scope up for field target. It has worked out very well. Great scope for the price point.
Things I Would Have ChangedBigger side wheel
This scope has not been mounted yet, it just showed up today in the mail. I ordered it for a Walther LG300 Alu-tec FT air rifle. So this is just an initial review of me looking it over and checking it out over all. So out of the box it looks nice. A good value for what I paid. I originally wanted the 8-32x56 but $659 was just out of my reach and and even though it's Chinese glass I figure this will do the trick for now. Anything with Japanese glass is going to be over $1,000 and I am not anywhere near that league yet.
Things I Would Have ChangedWhere the battery compartment and switch are located. I have one on my AR that's in front of the Up/Down clicker and Like that placement better.
What Others Should KnowSome folks say I wish the price was lower and I think that's baloney, it is what it is. One fellow mentioned he never paid more than $100 for his scopes before this one and he was really happy with what he bought. I'm not slamming him, I'm just saying wait until you look through some Japanese glass, that will blow your mind but that is way out of my budget.
This scope has not been mounted yet, it just showed up today in the mail. I ordered it for a Walther LG300 Alu-tec FT air rifle. So this is just an initial review of me looking it over and checking it out over all. So out of the box it looks nice. A good value for what I paid. I originally wanted the 8-32x56 but $800 was just out of my reach and even $500 was more than I wanted to pay but I purchased it based on the reviews written here. And I read every review, plus comments provided by Paul, LOL. And I may get one from him because this scope is still unmounted on an air rifle but it will go on a very cheap ( PP700) air pistol until the seller gets everything together for the rifle. So as of right now I am happy with what I purchased and I will update when I get it on the air rifle.
Things I Would Have ChangedHmmm things I would change. Placement of the battery compartment and the on/off for the lit reticle. I prefer them mount infant of the Up/Down clicker. That's where the one for my AR is mounted and I just like it there instead of on the side right there in front of you.
What Others Should KnowJust looking thru the glass without it being mounted I would say you would be happy with your purchase. But I will update this review after some shooting.
This is an awesome scope. I just got it the other day from Pyramid Air, for my Air Arms S510 Extra FAC walnut stock. The Scope complements the rifle extremely well. I also bought the large 6" parallax adjustment wheel. As you all probably know the S510 rifle loads the ten round magazine from the left side of the action and having a parallax wheel makes it almost impossible to load or unload the magazine. With the 6" wheel this is not a problem at all. The scope was sighted at 20 yard zero as recommended by Pyramid Air. At 30 yards I can put four shots of the Beeman Kodiak pellets in a dime size grouping. The scope is really clear and holds it's zero very well. This scope was purchased to replace a UTG 4-16x44 that I had on the rifle for a few years. I wanted a larger objective lens and more magnification, so I decided to go with the King of air rifle scopes and I have no regrets about purchasing the Hawke Airmax 30 SF
Things I Would Have ChangedI would have like to see a locking ring for the ocular lens focus adjustment.
What Others Should KnowWith scopes, like anything else you spend your money on in the air rifle business, the old saying of : "you get what you payed for" is absolutely true. Good equipment costs more and this scope isn't cheap, but it will serve you well for many years and countless amounts of ammunition. Hawke has a reputation to protect as one of the worlds premier rifle scope maker and this scope is proof of it. Buy it without any hesitation.
Solidly built. Ranging is very accurate. Holds its zero well.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe rheostat for the IR just feels weird where it is. The tiny little allen screws that require loosening to re-set zero are a real pain for people with limited eyesight.
What Others Should KnowExcept for the things I mentioned above, I'm really happy with this purchase. The scope is dead on accurate... especially if you take the time to calculate the exact scope click calibration. Then, using Strelok Pro for a ballistic calculator, all parameters correctly entered, I'm hitting 1" groups out to 65 yds and just over 1.5" @ 100 yds.
Great scope, have on 22 cal Hatsan BullBoss,to much scope for the rifle, but dailed in & 75 yards & longer really helps with shot, never shot this good @ distances 75 yards & longer with air rifle, believe scope does help with that, is a great scope
Things I Would Have ChangedPrice, Ive never paid over $100 for any scope or any of my rifles I own, air or fire arms, this scope changed that for me, if ur gonna fork out big $$$ for rifle then shld get a scope that cld or will make rifle better behind your shots,
What Others Should KnowI had trouble mounting, what in talking bout was lining up, make sure cross hairs where straight up & down & set best cld be, Im very particular when comes to that, but do believe that the rifle mounted on was big reason, finding flat & 90* angles were not like others,
Was hesitant about this purchase due to price point. Glad I pulled the trigger on it. Very clear and clean view. AO is spot on. Holds zero perfectly.
Things I Would Have ChangedWould be nice if it was cheaper price. But I say this with all higher priced items.
What Others Should KnowThis really is a very nice scope for the money. I've personally looked through scopes of 2x the price of this one and found clarity a bit better on this one. Reticle is different than I'm use to but I'm starting to like it.
Very clear glass. Unbeatable warranty. Glass clear enough to spot shots on targets at 16X at 55yds with ease. All knobs operate very well, very positive, very smooth.
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing.
What Others Should KnowI did not purchase this scope from Pyramid (sorry guys, go it used) I have it mounted to a Diana 54 in .22 tuned for Hunter FT. The optics are amazing. Add a six inch side wheel and off you go (almost, gotta set up your yardage tape first). This scope it absolutely springer rated and it is great for FT competition.
Its the best scope I ever have ....

After using this scope for several months I think I have a good feel of what this scope has to offer. Optics are good up to about 24X above that the sight picture is fuzzy and difficult to pick out detail making it hard to range longer targets. Seems to hold zero fine and is repeatable, Mil-dot reticle is great and the Illumination is good.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe optics could be better, the scope suffers in the upper magnification above 24X. The turrets need some kind of turns counter, no way to tell if you have wound a turret one full turn up or down other than you keeping track, there should be some indication of where you are in the adjustment range of the scope, this can cost you points in field target if you are not paying close attention.
What Others Should KnowI think it is a decent scope but could be great with a few refinements.
