I have been interested in getting a night vision device for years ever since I flew helicopters with them in the 1980s. This is the first one that I found that had a good reputation-- evaluations I read online, and seemed to be in the range of its not that expensive as compared to everything else I have looked at. I took it out in day light and nautical twilight and it automatically adjusted to an appropriate brightness so I could see until it got dark. Once light left the sky I changed it to IR and turned on the illuminator and I could see everything around my couple acre lot no problem. I am surrounded by trees so no idea just how far it will light up. Bolted it onto my Walther Reign 25 Cal PCP, Shot three rounds, used the automatic zero and was pretty much dead on after that. Changed distances and found I could just use the mil dot to adjust for the range and then started popping the black walnuts that had fallen from the tree one shot one hit. Easy Zero
Things I Would Have ChangedThe IR Illuminator has a push switch if starting at off, press the switch and you get on, on, on , and off again. Unless you are looking through the scope in the dark you can only tell the light is on, by glancing at the LED, glowing red if on. Some way to tell if on or off would be helpful. I could not tell if the different on positions indicated a different level of brightness, which I would suspect, but as the scope keeps adjusting automatically to give you good brightness for what you are looking at now, I could not tell why three pushes give on and the fourth gives off. Need to pay attention to this so you don't drain your batteries.
What Others Should KnowI have not tried it yet, but you can get the quick release for this and zero it for up to 6 different rifles or you could bolt it on to one and zero it for 6 different range and ammo combinations. So far we are just using it on one PCP rifle and planning to zero it for the most likely pest removing range and use the mil dots for other ranges. Only have two acres. Also you will find that it has a very shallow depth of field so as your range changes you will have to adjust the focus.
The zeroing is easy and you can record stills and video if you like. It has a micro sd slot. I took a video of popping an aluminum can full of water. Not a great work of art but it allows you a way of sharing your fun with others.

The night vision. But there has to be more, I am in the learning mode. And the scope is very clear to look through!
Things I Would Have ChangedThe 4 little navigation buttons on top can be a real bear to push. Wonder why they made them so small. They need to stick up a little higher to make using them easier.
What Others Should KnowThe computer drill down for the settings is laid out nice and easy to navigate. Buttons hard to push if you have big fingers. Remember, dead batteries equals dead scope! Night vision works good. Don’t think the learning curve is going to be too bad.
