I'm a lifetime outdoors explorer and this is a great little device. It's hard to beat the cheap standard machete found all over the world, but this little tool is exceeds expectations. When I go fishing and I'm locating new river access, I bring this along and it works great. Good tool. Good construction. Going to buy a couple for my field crew.
I actually like the design other than the metal on the end of the handle cut my hand several times, and blade is weak
Nice sheath, comfortable handle, nice finish, good balance and lightweight if that's what you're after. Unfortunately I like a little more heft and a blade that doesn't appear to be similar to aluminum like this one. I had a tough time cutting twiggy brush. This is for softer fleshy brush and weed cutting only.
I got this trim my cactus, made short work for big job...
I'm so impressed with this machete. I've been using it for around the yard jobs. Well balanced and very sharp. Ive taken down 6 in diameter trees with it. I believe its been 2 years and it needs just a bit of sharpening to make it more like new. That was shave the arm hair sharp.
Bought it for getting rid of weeds, the blade came incredibly sharp and both the blade and the saw cut down weeds with ease, had a weed about a half inch thick, took it down with one hit. Hit a rock with it once and only left a small knick.
Got this machete some years back for Christmas in a set with a tomahawk and a knife. Hadn’t used the machete till today was just clearing some small limbs from a bush in the yard and the blade is totally ruined. This is the first use of this machete.
Actually purchased this machete a couple of years ago, but never used it until today....tried cutting small bamboo and noticed notches in steel...blade is too flexible to withstand a blow. Also tempering is not up to par.
used it once on spruce soft wood... notched the blade on first use... no tempering at all... JUNK !!!
