Hunters in the UK and Australia have made Hawke scopes popular, and now the U.S. market is all agog about them!

Endowed with great glass and multiple glare-reducing coatings, Hawke scopes have become popular with hunters (airguns and firearms) and hunter field target shooters because they can stand the test of time on any type of rifle. Even spring-piston air rifles and heavy-recoiling firearms won't shake this scope.

Things I liked: Clear, easy to sight in paired with a .25 PCP i shot a 4 shot group at 20 yards that could be covered with a dime.

Things I would have changed: Nothing

Things I liked: lightweight/crisp optics/well built.

Things I would have changed: Not a Thing.

What others should know: The objective & power adjustments are stiff & will not move shot after shot. I have this on my Hammerli 850. Had it zeroed in 6 shots & hasn't moved since. I really like that this scope is light & doesn't add much to the overall weight of the gun which is also light. I almost pulled the trigger on a 4x12. I'm so glad I chose this instead. Its well suited for this gun.

Things I liked: Clarity of the cross and the lens.

Things I would have changed: The owners manual isn't specific about adjusting and aligning. I took me some time to figure this scope out. The book could go into more detail about adjusting, aligning and overall preventive maintenance of the scope.

What others should know: Don't tighten the mount screws excessively and don't just tighten one side. Equal torque all around and double check the torque after some usage.

  • JamesM. from USA asked:

would this work OK on a 22 Discovery?? Price seems reasonable

    • Mark from USA:

      Yes. It will work fine.

  • Frank from USA asked:

Would this scope be an acceptable choice for a Gamo Hornet Maxxim? This website indicates "Please Note: Not suitable for use on a spring/gas piston airgun exceeding 12 ft pounds" while another website (their sister company) makes the statement "so they can hold up to the recoil of even the fiercest airguns!" So.....which is it?

    • Mark from USA:

The Sport HD is only rated to 12 ft lbs. The Airmax scopes are fully airgun rated in the 1" tubes.

  • Eric from USA asked:

I am interested in putting this scope on my Beeman R9. I see Hawke doesn't recommend on guns over 12 FPE. Would this scope hold up on an R9?

    • Mark from USA:

The Hawke Airmax line or the 30mm tube scopes will be springer rated. That is 12 Ftlbs plus. The sport HD will not stand up to 12 ftlbs plus.
