Ruger 10/22 Air Rifle .177
The Ruger 10/22 is an iconic rifle that has introduced countless shooters to firearms. Thanks to Umarex, the 10/22 is now available as a CO2 powered pellet rifle! With almost identical physical specs and characteristics to the .22LR rimfire rifle it's modeled after, this rifle is sure to be a hit in backyards everywhere.
A 10 round pellet magazine seamlessly loads into the rifle, and two 12 gram CO2 cartridges in the rear of the stock send pellets to their target at speeds up to 650 fps. The 10/22 is likely to find fans in new shooters and replica fans alike due to the light overall weight and authentic features.
Maybe the most intriguing feature is the trigger. While the 10/22 has a 10 lbs double action pull, simply cocking the charging handle on the rifle turns this into a single action trigger and reduces the weight to 3 lbs. This feature makes the rifle more user friendly and should aid in the overall accuracy.
|Max Velocity||650 fps|
|Rear Sight||Adjustable for windage|
|Trigger Action||Double-Action & Single-Action|

Things I liked: I like the looks and the feel. A couple of my friends thought it was the real thing till I told them it was an air rifle. It shoots good. I bought it to teach my Wife and Grandchildren with. They love it.
What others should know: The trigger pull is pretty hard. If you cock it first it makes it easier on the trigger.
Things I liked: I often use a 10/22 firearm, so having a CO2 pellet version is great. It is an exact replica and that makes for very familiar handling. It shoots fine. I'm using the Crosman Premier hollow point pellets as per the review video and they are working great. I'm using it for pest bird control at 20 yards and it is doing great. Groups from a rest (the front porch rail) are coming in around 1" +/- with an occasional flyer. I was not sure how to rate accuracy - for a 20-yard gun it's good.
Things I would have changed: The bundle with the scope is great, but in retrospect it would have been nice to have had the option of the UTG 6x32 AO Bug Buster scope instead of the Mantis. At CO2 ranges (i'm using it at 20 yards) the variable power is more of an annoyance than a plus, but I prefer fixed-power scopes. Also, when will additional magazines (the little round red part) be available? Ten shots happen pretty fast, so it would be nice to pre-load some magazines. *** As reported in the blog, it does not always pierce one of the CO2 cartridges. This shows up as a sudden loss of power after about 30 shots. I think some improvement here would be a good idea.
What others should know: The double-action trigger is actually not horrible. I fired several rounds in double action today, and while it is a very tough trigger it is pretty smooth. Still, if you have the time then cocking it makes for a much lighter pull.
Things I liked: thanks for the check up. the 10/22 is still in the box. i an waiting for the 30cal. to get here to open both at the same time.
