Schofield No. 3 Nickel CO2 BB/pellet revolver
Read and see MORE ABOUT THE SCHOFIELD No. 3 CO2 BB REVOLVER in Dennis Adler's latest Airgun Experience Blog.
This 6-shooter is an authentic replica of the famous Schofield No. 3 designed by Army Ordnance officer, Major George W. Schofield of the 10th Cavalry.
The U.S. Army ordered thousands of the Schofield No. 3, and many were used by the 4th Cavalry in the Geronimo campaign and by the Buffalo Soldiers of the 9th and 10th Cavalry. The revolver was popular among horse soldiers because of its top-break, rapid ejection system.
The Nickel version of this legendary gun features the same top-break design and will bring you hours of plinking fun.

Things I liked: Size, weight and feel are very satisfying. I have shot the real guns and this replica brings that experience to mind.
Things I would have changed: Should come in a decent box that matches the quality of the pistol.
What others should know: Would like to have the Steel Gray version available in Europe. Customer service is outstanding. They promptly helped me with a strange situation.
Things I liked: I am a Cowboy Action Shooter and currently own 2 CO2 Colt Peacemakers a Schofield and a Winchester lever action rifle in addition to my conventional period firearms. I use the BB firearms to practice Indoors primarily for gun handling and transition. Several of us have these and occasionally have a match using them. They are a lot of fun.
Things I would have changed: Leave all the non important writing off the guns. The one side if the Schofield has a whole paragraph of writing.
Things I liked: Everything but the plastic hammer & safety. This gun is a real joy to shoot, the detail, weight, function, & feel is really something that must be appreciated.Cowboy Hats off to Bear River for such a fine product, noticed it was NOT made in China, a real bonus there!!!
Things I would have changed: Only the plastic hammer & safety, to do everything else so good, the hammer & safety should have been made out of metal also. They seem to work just fine but for how long.
What others should know: Yes, you are really missing out on old west shooting if you don't get this awesome replica, also, you can reload the pellets without taking out the cartridges, that's a plus in my book. Fun Fun Fun!!!

I've use CO2 cartridge guns for some time. The problem has always been that once the cartridge has been punctured, the gas rapidly escapes. Thus rendering the firearm useless in less than a day. It his one any different?
No. It is suggested that you shoot all of the 12gram cart or remove it each day.
let me ask my question this way, is it possible to have the barrel of the schofield be machined to have rifling
No. The barrel has a smoothbore liner. You cannot machine it. It is too thin.
to re-ask my question, can the barrel of the Scofield be rifled, i am aware cartridges from the webley/scofield are the same
No. There is no rifled barrel for the Schofield.
