Description

Big power, low noise!  The Vaporizer breakbarrel is sure to become your go-to backyard friendly air rifle.  Loaded with features and set into a rock solid all-weather stock, the Vaporizer can dispatch small game and “vaporize” cans, bottles, fruit or anything else you put downrange!

The Vaporizer sports Crosman’s improved SBD (Silencing Barrel Device) technology, a modified suppressor that was designed to make this airgun 3x quieter than other breakbarrels in its class. This version features the SBD Gold suppressor, designed to be even quieter than the SBDs built into the last model Benjamin Trails.  This new streamlined suppressor is specially crafted to stay out of the sight picture of the included 9x40 AO scope that mounts up to the Weaver/Picatinny rail.  Benjamin also included a front post and an adjustable rear sight for those who love shooting straight out of the box.

Designed for the backyard as well as on the trail, the Vaporizer’s synthetic stock features multiple textured handholds for an easy grip and sling mounts for field carrying. Set into this stock is Crosman’s upgraded Nitro Piston Elite powerplant--an enhanced next-generation gas piston that delivers 15% more speed, 35% more power, and 2x the accuracy of standard gas pistons.  This system grants shooters the same benefits as other gas-pistons including the ability to leave it cocked for hours and experience no loss in performance in cold weather. Lastly, the Vaporizer includes Crosman’s Clean Break Trigger (CBT), an adjustable 2 stage trigger built for a customized pull. Once you pull the trigger, you can expect lead velocities up to 1150fps in .177 and 950 in .22 with respective 23 and 29 FPE of muzzle energy.

What more can you ask for? Get the Benjamin Vaporizer and start decimating targets downrange!

Well made. Plenty of power. Like the feel of the rifle when shooting.

Trigger pull is a little heavy.

I am pleased with the Vaporizer. Pyramid air is great to deal with.

Big, heavy sledgehammer of an airgun. It feels big in the hands and very sturdy. Cocking is smooth as silk with no noises whatsoever. Mine is .177 so I use a minimum of a 10.5 grain pellet and am using the Jsb 13 gainers at the moment. In .177 this is a 23 ftlb gun..yes 23 ftlbs and with that in mind the gun is very quiet. I have louder Air rifles making half the power. Fit a d finish is very very nice. Here we go..the only let down is the awful trigger. Drag it through the muddy gritty 1st stage and by then you're asleep. No amount of tweaking will fix it what we're Crosman thinking? I've just bought a Cometa Fusion for the same money and the trigger is beautiful! Still a nicely built powerhouse which I doubt I'll sell it, and I'll probably look for a .22 aswell as I really do like it..a beast of an Airgun.

Trigger trigger and the trigger.

Not a backyard plonker unless you have a bit of land..way too powerful and build a good backstop.

I own this rifle in both .177 and .22 calibers. Both are very powerful air rifles, albeit the claims on the box are a bit exaggerated. The sound suppression seems to do a fine job. I find it to be accurate out to roughly 50 yards max, but your shot groups will be rather wide, so save those longer shots for larger prey. For best results keep your shots within 35-40 yards at max. 10 yard to 25 yard shots are the spot where you will get great shot groups that a US quarter will cover. You won't be getting dime groups like on a PCP, so forget that.

I would change the plastic trigger. The trigger, with an almost 6lb trigger pull is bit much, but it is a two stage trigger. I have yet to get the aftermarket triggers and install them. But, I eventually will. Just haven't researched them much.

This rifle is a beast in both .177 and .22. However, one must know how to handle and shoot these the right way. It is not necessarily the artillery hold that you will need, but you just need to figure it out. Please ensure to break the rifle in with 100 -200 shots. Also find the right pellets, these rifles do like heavier pellets. Learn your right hold as well. Unfortunately, you may eventually blow out the included scope, which is to be expected. If you're on a budget get any of UTG Leapers Scopes or if you want to invest a bit more buy any of the Hawke Airmax Scopes. Both companies provide lifetime warranties and you get much better reticles some are even illuminated. Also, if you can't cock this rifle I would suggest finding a break barrel with less cocking effort or go ahead on up to the world of PCP's. Don't give up on this rifle! They do a great job for what they were designed to do.

The added grey grips on this gun are nice and do come in handy. The scope is decent for what it is. The accuracy, well once you find out what it likes its a beast. Also, this gun is pretty darn quiet for what it is. Is it backyard friendly? If you are hitting soft targets I'd say so but if you're shooting wood or steel, no it sounds like a hammer hitting it.

The vaporizer from what I have seen doesn't like light pellets at all. This gun is quite heafty also.

from what I've found out so far, it doesn't like light pellets. At 25 yards all of the light pellets didn't do well at all. The only pellet I have found to owe up to this guns accuracy claims are the Crossman domed ultra heavy 19 grain. Now keep in mind every gun prefers something different.

It definitely didn't like
Crossman destroyer 14.3 gr
Rws super h point 14.2 gr
Rws superpoint extra 14.5 gr
Crossman premier hp 14.3 gr
Daisy wadcutters
N&n barracuda match 21.14 gr
N&n terminators 16.36 gr
Rws superdome 14.5 gr

I just ordered some new heavier weighted pellets so I will update when I have the chance. Happy shooting!

P.s. it wouldn't let me give 4.5 stars.

Update. The my gun seems to like jsb ultrashock 25.39gr, and Seneca domed 28.5gr pellets( these are really tight so use at your own risk). The previously listed seemed to have performed as well as the Crossman domed ultra heavys 19gr.

It's a bad ass looking gun!

It weighs a damn ton! I have owned and shot .22 rifles which weigh a lot less than this! Cocking it as a beast! I need to break it over my knee to do it.

I was pushed to this gun for pest control. I was told this is the best one to get for the under $300 mark. I'm not impressed. It heavy as well, cocking it is a bear, it kicks harder than a .22 rim fire, and I'm just disappointed in general. I cannot comment on the accuracy, I have shot it 5 times, and maybe because I trying to hit a bird from 30 yard and maybe I'm just a bad shot, I don't know. But being heavy as it is, makes getting a good site on a small animal difficult to say the least.
I feel like I wasted my money.

I feel my review was honest & accurate. I did my research & chatted with multiple Air techs on different rifles, & I was told this would be the best "BANG" for the buck. After handing the rifle over to a co-worker, he dialed in the scope & the accuracy has come ten fold. As for the recoil, a few more shots & its not as bad as it first was. Yes, In your eyes Phillip, I'm a novice, as for how I rated the rest of rifle, I'm sorry, but I think it was from my honest point of view. I feel there needs to be a better way to let people know on the item description of how heavy these rifles are. I need a rifle strong enough to drop small pests, but not draw attention to being shot, which this rifle does quite well. Its still a heavy rifle, & maybe I'm weak in my older years, so standing to take a shot with this is less than accurate, I lean or lay prone to get accurate shots. In conclusion, would I buy this again & would I recommend, NEITHER. I'll go to a store and try before I purchase.

Get so tired of rookies not doing their homework -like PyramidAir Academy or a Experienced Pelletier and Not a Conventional experienced rifleman. Yes, spring piston Do Double Recoil ( this destroys all None Pellet Rifle Designed Scopes) Leapers UTG always best value and lifetime warranty!! I have 2 gas piston rifles & 1 pistol, 2 spring piston rifles / 1 pistol, & 2 Co2 pistols. All were researched , purposefully hand picked, extremely / repeatably / reliably accurate for what their used for. If your 6.6 feet you do not buy a Mini Cooper unless you want to be miserable same with firearms and pellet rifle and pistol. Please do not blast a product because you are a novice!!! Nuff said

This type of air rifle requires a break in period maybe 100 rounds (or more) with a cleaning or two thrown in there as well. It being a springer requires you to find a consistent way to hold it so each shot is as close to the same as possible. It might not be the artillery hold, but you need to find it and make it repeatable every time, or as close as you can. Don't give up, these are fine shooters at this price point, the 3x9 AO scope is said to be a decent start as well.

With open sights it is very accurate. It is a very powerful air rifle. I have the 22cal and been using it for squirrel hunting.

The trigger is harsh. I replaced it with a after market kit which did make it a very nice to shoot

When I first got it from Crosman it was a replacement they sent me to replace the Jim Shockey that I had. With the scope it sighted in pretty quick and shot tight groups for about a 100 rounds then went south. Could not get it to group again (terrible). I went to the open sights and had to learn how to shoot again with open sights, something I have not done in 40 years. It shoots very accurate. Taken many squirrels and a few coons. Dont know if it destroyed the scope or what happened there.

I bought the Jim ShocklySteelEagle.177, exceptionally accurate with a Leapers utg 4x24-50 AO True pellet rifle scope built for the double recoil in springers and very harsh gas piston. Wish I had it in .22 as well. From coyote on down at 45 yards and closer lethal with experienced head/heart/lung shoots easily made with this exceptional rifle , dedicated practice, and hand picked pellets for the task at Hand. Not for Rookies with tender sentiments- All rifle and pistol user would benefit from PyramidAir Academy education. I have no affiliation with them other than being a repeat customer for best selection, prices, and availability of all things a Pelletier would want. But My Hatsan HC130S30VORTQE Mod 130S Vort QE Combo w 3-9X40-30 Cal 0.3 Caliber Adv Poly was bought from Amazon for a cheaper price. Disability Ret DoD Federal Supervisory Agent / LEO money is tight and selectively spent after saving up for thing(s). No sponsors I write only with honesty, integrity, & experience!

That's a very decent CenterPoint scope. I'd send it in if you suspect it is the problem. CenterPoint has lifetime warranty. Check the screws that hold the stock to the action, especially the 2 forward ones. They have a tendency to loosen up, even with blue loctite applied.

It looks ok.

The accuracy.

The gun is very inaccurate. It is hard to hold a shot group the size of a pie plate at 20 yards. Have tried to sight in but is impossible. This gun is useless to me. I wasted my money.
