The Cold Steel Gladius Machete remains one of the most popular models in our hybrid sword / machete series. Its made from 65Mn steel with black anti rust matte finish. The Gladius Machete features the classic guard and ball shaped pommel of years gone by, but with the added strength and durability found with full-tang construction and modern materials. We use high-impact Polypropylene for our handle, making it almost impervious to the elements and rugged beyond belief. The Gladius Machete comes complete with a sturdy Cor-Ex sheath and belt loop for easy of carry and use.

Very good quality, durable and functional, very sharp from factory
This came recommended as a cheaper version of a small one handed sword and it was razor sharp thin blade but doesn't matter I was still able to cut a milk creat in half with one swing like it wasn't even there...
This machete is crazy I love the way it looks. sharp strong, the sheath is beautiful.

I have bought 4 over the years, given some as gifts. I use mine a lot. Great for close spaces and easily resharpened. Good balance and tough as hell.
I have owned two of these machete's for a number of years now and all I can say is that it really is pretty impressive! Mine came with fairly sharp but roughly ground edges, a few hours with a sharpening stone and the blade angle being how it was resulted in an extremely sharp blade. I have cut down saplings, brush, branches, struck dead trees as hard as I was able to swing to test durability, it withstood all of it. The only thing that damaged it was when I threw it into a tree, the tip ended up bending a little bit due to how thin/pointed it is and the wobble from the handle. Overall though I couldn't be more happy with purchasing this item. 1055 Carbon steel might only be a mid range carbon but it is truly perfect for this purpose!
I bought two of these about 12 years ago or so, and they were razor sharp and well made. I kept one and gave the other away as a gift. Mine got stolen last year so I decided to replace it. This replacement I got has the front top edges are very bad, there are 3 sides on it and the main blade I can feel the very huge burr on it. I'm going to have to use my grinder on both sides of the tip and get it to a correct edge, and now have to use my stones to get the burr off both sides. Pretty disappointing.

Very cool and of a high quality for the price point as always cold steel never lets me down I own over a hundred from early stuff to present day and was worried about the GSM takeover but they are killing it and better then ever
