Nice little knife. Extremely solid locking mechanism. Light in the hand and very maneuverable. Good little "pokey-pokey" kinda knife.

The notches make it a lil hard to put in and out of pockets but great knife love the edge

I'm gonna be honest, there are some problems with this knife: 1. It's too useful, easy to carry, and overperforming for its size. I have a lot of other, bigger knives I like and they're getting less pocket time than they used to. On the other hand, while I'm not really the type to carry two folders and feel altogether reasonable about it, the ease of carry factor of the Kiridashi makes it work better in this mode than most. 2. This design could easily merit a higher end version with a premium steel. I'm happy with the 4116 version in my pocket but I'd buy the heck out of a fancy one. The plastic clip works well in practice and plays to the ergonomics of the knife, as well as being a welcome feature for those of us who are constantly working in busy, crazy environments around various rolling objects with fancy paint jobs. I can imagine a situation where it snags and breaks and a steel clip wouldn't, and it would not surprise me if the average lifespan were less. But, that is speculation that doesn't amount to much for the price, and the clip works well in practice. Being small, straight and a not-all-that-hard steel, this knife is easy to maintain on a stone or strop. Straight edges don't do everything well, but the drop/offset, the blade angle relative to the handle, and the tip geometry on this knife are very thoughtfully done, and I've yet to feel like I'm missing much.

Stiff straight blade gives you complete control of this knife when using it. 3 months in and I haven't sharpened once. Grind on the blade makes it almost imposable to sharpen incorrectly as well. I make wood chains, and cages with a ball inside them just like my Great-Uncle taught me years ago.

I bought this a few months ago and wanted to put it through my normal wear and tear. It has surpassed my expectations and as this is my first Cold Steel knife I am very much looking forward to my next one!!

I bought this knife after seeing Lynn talk about it on a BladeHQ interview where he explained the design. If you like carrying a large (+4”) blade every day or even a radical blade design like a Black Talon or karambit, this is a great companion knife. Super light weight, disappears in the pocket, and the blade shape and handle design allow for very delicate and precise work. And the plastic pocket clip… it is awesome, don’t worry about it at all. It is sturdy and comfortable in the hand and doesn’t catch on anything. It was my biggest worry before I bought it, but is now my favorite feature next to that blade tip!
