Cold Steel Bushman

I just bought this knife, and am happy with the knife itself. However, I give an overall 2 rating because the sheath is not only useless, it is dangerous. It does not hold the knife securely at all, and poses a severe cutting risk as the knife will fall out at any angle except straight down.

Similar review to others. The sheath is of dubious quality and looks like it will wear out quickly with 20 or so removals. Little plastic knubs that hold the knife in show wear after the first or second withdraw. The gauge of steel on the knife is less than I would have wanted. But it looks like it will be a decent knife. If used as a spear tip, I imagine, a short life. But if I'm out using this for a spear then my life will already be on the short list too. Ha. Pretty cool for the money, all in all. I will probably stuff a cork in the end and fill the handle with survival stuff. Definitely goes in my go bag.

Great for a survival tool. I have purchased this in the past for myself and wanted one for my wife to add to her backpack also.

Bought 2 a couple of years ago, I beat the hell out of one. I wanted to see if It was strong enough for hunting with, it is. I still have one brand new and just use the beater as my EDC.

The bushman knife by a Cold Steel is exactly as expected to be. Tough and easy to sharpen and easily made into a spearhead. The sheath that came with it is OK. But it’s easy enough for one to make their own sheath.

I have bought multiples of these knives over the years and they are absolutely amazing for their price and the the amount of work you can do with them. However their only drawback is that the sheath. I wanted to add on of these Bushmen (I have both regular and Bowies) to my plate carrier and/or battle belt and it would not work whatsoever. As well, when I tried to rig them in a somewhat scout carry, the bald would slip out. Sadly I wasn’t able to add it to my load-out for any training. But I definitely use them for work inside and outside of my house. It makes a great hunting, camping, and work knife, but without a secured sheath, it’s not something I’d carry for any military training nor deployment.

Solid value survival tool. Sharp strong blade, well coated. Workable length not too large to use as crafting tool. Sheath has good retention and clip. Blade handle can be wrapped and made into a spear with a screw. Fire steel is adequate with hole for attaching to lanyard.

i bought one of these at a garage sale and it is such a decent simple knife im so suprised by the price. its rare to see something this quality of a merchandise item these days. if you take care of this knife its easily a life long product. thank you bushman cold steel!

For the price this has to be one of the best knives I've ever owned....I use it daily on my homestead as my EDC it's shaving sharp and ReSharpens very easily...my only gripe is the plastic scabbard starts to be less secure over time and rough use, But other then that I honestly love this knife
