Description
In U.S. Military service from WWII through the 1970s, the legendary M1 Carbine is now available as a CO2 powered .177 caliber BB replica bearing the Springfield Armory crossed cannons! Available with a synthetic, wood-look stock or hardwood stock and a full metal action, the Springfield Armory M1 Carbine has the look and feel of the real thing.
Aiding in that realism is a gas-powered recoil system that gives the user the most authentic shooting experience possible. With each pull of the crisp, two-stage trigger, you'll send steel BBs downrange at speeds of up to 425 fps. Operating off of a single 12-gram CO2 cartridge held in the 15 round drop-free magazine, you can expect 40 good shots from this replica rifle.
Whether you're a replica fan, history buff, or just enjoy a fun shooting experience, the M1 Carbine from Springfield Armory is a rifle that deserves a place in every airgunner's arsenal.

10 of 134 Springfield Armory M1 Carbine Reviews
The carbine looks just like my Inland in every way. I'm happy with the rifle, the magazine not so much. I can't use Umarex c02 at all. Got a box of Crosman c02 and a long handle allen wrench, and I still lose one third of c02 before they seat. I get ten shots out of one magazine then the gas just spews out. I held off doing this review because I thought it was just me. I have several c02 pistols without this problem.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe magazine.
What Others Should KnowPlease let me know if an improved magazine comes available.
Very accurate at 5 to 10 yards, I haven't shot it further than that yet but it hits quarter-sized groups at that distance with rapid fire. Weighs the same as a real M1 Carbine and can be accessorized with a sling and oiler just like a real one. Semi-auto blowback action adds a nice touch of reality, too.
Things I Would Have ChangedI only get 30 to 45 shots out of one CO2 cartridge, it would be nice if it could get a little more mileage out of a CO2.
What Others Should KnowGreat backyard plinking fun, my son and I both love it and it's great to get outside for an hour or two (and away from the tablet/TV) and learn marksmanship and firearms safety.
This gun feels good! I went with the wood stock & am glad I did. I was also very happy when my real M1 Carbine bayonet locked right on, as if it was made for this rifle. This replica air rifle is that good. I bought it primarily for display and it looks great in our den!
Things I Would Have ChangedNot sure if this was a factory error, or what? Gun arrived bone dry. No lubricant on any moving parts. The safety was totally inoperable. You couldn't move it...period. I put some lube on it and it did the trick. Safety works. Also, on the 2nd clip, the gun jammed. No lube on any moving parts. I applied silicone gun lube to all moving parts & have had no further issues. Not sure what happened...???
What Others Should KnowThis thing is fun, once you get it going!! You won't regret buying it!
Looks, feel, and functionality.
Things I Would Have ChangedJust a tiny bit of weight, possibly some cheap metal hidden in the stocks would give it more heft.
What Others Should KnowThis carbine is a joy to shoot and surprisingly accurate with avanti bbs. The shot count is low, but not a big deal. (2 mags full power per co2 on a warm day)
it replaces the real thing with away to shoot a weapon from the past , which you can share with your kids and help to teach them real gun safety
Things I Would Have Changedwould offer a sling matched to the gun
What Others Should Knowyou will get hooked on the fun of being able to shoot in doors
With the wood stock, the rifle is fantastic, oil the wood a little and it looks like an in-use real carbine, which, to the credit of Air Venturi, it actually is!! This gun is totally satisfying. It impresses both the owner and friends. All the buttons and tabs are first quality. I really like this gun and would buy it again in a heartbeat. I like it!!
Things I Would Have ChangedThe magazine has the weight and feel of a real gun, but does not easily pierce the Powerlet without a lot of twist on the capscrew.
What Others Should KnowThe magazines are difficult to get a seal on the CO2 tube while piercing. I over-tightened one of mine and broke the O-ring retaining seal ring at the piercer. Since I broke it, even though it was failing to seal, i havent tried to get a replacement. Instead, I ordered three more magazines. Since they hold just a few anyway, they will come in handy when shooting this exemplary gun!
The Springfield M1 BB carbine was a bargain at $129 Black Friday special. I own other M1 carrbines, original, and 22 caliber, but this BB gun was just the ticket for backyard plinking without bothering anyone. I have shot 2 magazines of BBs and so far it seems to be pretty good ... for a BB gun. I bought the synthetic stock version and am pleased with it. I have the real thing so no need for wood for this gun. The weight and feel of it are approximately that of the real thing, mostly due to the weight of the magazine. For a backyard plinker it is a great little rifle. I did buy the 10 for 10 deal so that Pyramid would check it out before it was shipped... worth it... as they tested the velocity, which was about 400 FPS, but that will get better. We are not talking a minute of angle, competition firearm here... we're lookiing at something to plink tin cans, or targets at about 30 feet in the back yard. I have used copperhead BB's and they seem to be great for what we are doing.
Things I Would Have ChangedNot much to change... maybe upgrade the sight to do elevation as well as windage... it's a fun little gun. cheap to plink with
What Others Should KnowYou will use a lot of CO2... about 40 shots per cartridge, get an extra mag and be careful with it. Read all instructions and follow them.
This item is extremely historically accurate including down to specifications of barrel length and bayonet lug and trigger pull. I found a bayonet on the internet; the M4 specifically, and it actually does slide onto the muzzle and locks in the bayonet lug. I think that's amazing for a reproduction bb gun to be able to accommodate an 80 year old accessory.
Things I Would Have ChangedI bought the one with the synthetic stock and I wish I would have bought the Wood stock for $100 more.
What Others Should KnowIt's very realistic reproduction. Keep it clean and lubed or you will go through a very large amount of CO2.
I purchased the Woodstock Carbine. Except for the slightly longer magazine, the carbine is identical to my original US M1 carbine. Once I resolved the magazine issue, I found it to be the most accurate smoothbore airgun I’ve ever had. Off the sandbags it’s shooting less than 1 inch groups at 10 yards The sights are dead on at that distance. I found it still has good accuracy at 15 yards. The bolt recoil gives it an enjoyable solid kick. If you own a real M1, you need to buy this BB reproduction to keep your shooting skills up without spending a fortune on 30 carbine ammo. Lastly, be prepared for having a lot of fun.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was the magazine. The magazine sent with the gun would not allow the CO2 cartridge to completely seal. Pyramyd air service was great, they immediately sent me a new magazine and said just keep the old one. Unfortunately, the new magazine was worse than the first. Upon examination, I realized that the threads were covered with the parkarized finish of the magazine, preventing the cap cover to fully seat. The remedy was to simply place some machine oil on the cover’s threads then screw through (tap) the excessive finish.. That completely resolved the problem.
What Others Should KnowBuy plenty of Co2 cartridges, but don’t let that dissuade you, it’s a small price to pay for such a realistic action. I get 28 full power shots per cartridge.
The only BB’s I had on hand were Crosman. It’s worth try other as the fantastic accuracy I achieved may even be surpassed.

Authenticity. Very true to the original. These make the best pop guns. Put a half inch long piece of wire tie, cut square on the ends, into the bb slot ahead of the bb pusher. This disables the empty magazine hold open so you can popgun this baby. I don't even ever shoot bbs with mine. Pure backyard GI action against your buddy.
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing
What Others Should KnowGreat play army gun. I believe the military calls that practice maneuvers. Just like being a big kid.
