Poised and ready to strike, the Crosman Diamondback brings silenced shooting to your plinking sessions and lethal hits to small game.

Featuring Crosman’s latest airgun tech, the Diamondback offers an improved Silencing Barrel Device (SBD), an innovative suppressor design that keeps its shots 3x quieter than other breakbarrels in its class.  The Diamondback also includes Crosman’s latest gas piston technology, the Nitro Piston Elite–a powerplant reported to provide shooters with 15% more speed, 35% more power, and 2x the accuracy of standard gas pistons. This improved power system translates to up to 23 FPE in .177 caliber and an impressive 29 FPE in .22.

All these additions are set into an all-weather stock with a pistol style grip, this breakbarrel includes integrated sling mounts for easy transportation with the addition of a sling (not included).  For optics, the Diamondback offers a lot of choices with its open sights for out-of-the-box shooting and the included CenterPoint® 4x32 mm scope for the 11mm Dovetail. Release all this energy with Crosman’s Clean Break Trigger (CBT), a 2-stage adjustable that can be customized to your preferred pull.  Once ready to fire, you can expect lead pellet velocities from you can expect lead velocities up to 1,150 fps in .177 and 950 in .22 with lead pellets.

If you want an easy-to-use backyard that keeps shots high-powered and quiet, choose the Diamondback and sling hard-hitting venom at the range!

Things I liked:

Very accurate and powerful if you use a heavier pellet. (10.5gr or better work great.) I use it primarily to drop birds that steal the food from my peacocks. Out to 50 yards, a pigeon is a 1 shot kill and at 25 yards even the tiny sparrows can be hit consistently. "Paper punching" groups in an inch at 25 yards off hand and narrows to all holes touching from a bench rest.

Things I would have changed:

The scope that comes with it is garbage (or at least mine was) I had one left over from my old Stoeger spring gun that wore out that works great on the Crosman and allows accurate zeros and consistent shot placements. (Scope that came with it wouldn't hold a zero!!! Factory defect on mine?) People have complained about the noise and weight. I agree that when new, it was very loud, but as they said, it quieted down after some shooting. I've probably put several thousand pellets through it since new and no one in the convenience store parking lot (several hundred feet away from my yard) seems to hear it any more. The weight is substantial and I use the sling (that I added) any time except when getting ready for a shot. From a bench, or even off hand, the extra weight makes it quite stable for aiming. I do not recommend the lighter weight pellets. Under 10 grain wouldn't fly straight. I think there might have be too much power behind them and they tumble.

What others should know:

I highly recommend this pellet gun in .177 for smaller "critters"or "paper punching" and if the .22 version is as accurate and dependable, it should be a really decent "bunny buster". Make sure to keep your arm in shape as that single pump of the barrel can take some effort if you can't get the right angle, or if rapid firing at the range. (if you can call a single shot break barrel rifle rapid firing) I wouldn't call this a serious competition gun, but is accurate enough for the casual shooter and at a very affordable price for its quality.

Things I liked:

It's accurate and it is quiet

Things I would have changed:

Some how reconfigure the leverage required to cock it. It is a booger!

What others should know:

Again, it's REALLY tough to cock. That being said, it seems to be more than adequately accurate. It's really quiet!

  • Rudolf from USA asked:

Is this still backyard friendly when shooting PBA pellets in the 12 to 14 grains range (expecting 900 to 1000 fps then)?

    • Adam from USA answered:

The closer you get to the sound barrier, the louder this gets. If you are looking for backyard friendly, I would still with lead pellets.

  • Mitch from USA asked:

I am planning to buy the Crosman Diamondback SBD Gold NP Elite .22 caliber air rifle without the optional scope and instead purchase a different scope. The scope has a 1" tube with a 44mm objective. I have calculated that I need a tall set of rings, BKL 257H, to raise the scope above the level of the gun's integrated sights so that I am not seeing the rear sights through the scope. Should I go with the taller rings and retain the sights or should I go with a shorter set of rings (BKL 257) and resign myself to removing the rear sights?

    • steven from USA asked:

Curious, the specifications say 1110 fps. A review posted said 975 with a standard crosman 14.5 gr. Pellet. Seems to be a significant difference with advertised velocity, Unless crosman used a light non-lead pellet, 8- 10 gr. In weight?

      • Michael from USA answered:

For the sake of posterity, the 10-for-10 supposedly clocked mine in at average 840 fps with the 11.9gr RWS Hobby pellets. There are definitely a few ways this information could be interpreted.

      • Kelan from USA answered:

Correct to get those speeds you would need a light pellet
