Description
Manufactured in the United Kingdom with Air Arms state-of-the-art engineering and production technology, the new Galahad PCP air rifle is one of the quietest bullpup air rifles available.
Available in .22 caliber, the carbine version of the Galahad features a compact, ergonomic walnut stock with a finely detailed pistol grip and forearm for ideal shooting comfort. The beautifully crafted walnut stock is ambidextrous and features a highly adjustable buttpad that pivots right or left depending on your preference. For added versatility, spacers can be fitted between the pad and stock to increase length of pull.
Air Arms loaded the Galahad with versatility and user friendly upgrades. With its state-of-the-art regulator, the Galahad offers exceptional shot string consistency in addition to more shots per fill versus a non-regulated PCP airgun. And because every gun offers multiple power settings, you customize the gun to your personal shooting preference based on the target you're shooting at. For shooting at longer ranges, the integrated bubble level helps resolve cant issues, resulting in better accuracy.
The aesthetically pleasing Galahad features a forward mounted cocking lever made from aircraft-grade aluminum at the center of the action, making it especially easy to cock and naturally comfortable. The cocking lever offers you the option of having it on either the right or left-hand side of the action making it fully ambidextrous. Body movement during the shot cycle is reduced allowing you to remain on target better. And, not only does the forward motion cocking design result in enhanced stealth because you don't have to pull away from the rifle to cock it, but it also delivers marked improvements in shot placement.
With the attractive curves and lines of its sporting shape stock, the Galahad stands out from traditional, bulky bullpups. The center of gravity is just to the rear of the pistol grip meaning extra stability when handling the shorter action. And the distinctive shape of the pistol grip provides additional resting options in a compact shooting stance. The Galahad has a two-stage adjustable trigger, built-in pressure gauge, and a soft-touch cheekpiece that each add to shooting versatility and comfort. There is also a short rail under the forend for mounting additional accessories.
For the most sophisticated sporting air rifle loaded with features that ensure power, strength and accuracy, choose the Galahad by Air Arms.

3 of 3 Air Arms Galahad Carbine, REG FAC Walnut Stock Reviews
I bought one of Pyramyd Air's, Galahad Carbine in .22 cal. a bit over a year ago. I for one, like the overall shape and design of this gun. While it may be a little on the heavy side, that also aids in holding it steady for off or free hand shooters. And I doubt it makes any difference for bench shooters. The grip size and angle fit me very nicely. It shoulders well, with most of the weight at or behind the trigger for a comfortable hold. The trigger pull is smooth, the let-off is fairly quick and without much creep. The adjustable power setting is very easy to use and makes noticeable power changes. The rotating cocking lever is different, but not difficult to use or get used to. The suppressor does an "ok" job of cutting the sound. Just barely back yard friendly. The "REG" model has a pressure regulator for an even pressure shot string.
Things I Would Have ChangedLighten it up a little. While not a big deal, I like a more stock or receiver located safety. Another...my opinion only, but to me, a Bullpup should be a maximum of 30" long, this one's about 31-1/2". Mine is now, well under 30" and still shoots very well..! It could have been made a little quieter at this price.
What Others Should KnowSome early models had feeding problems. This was taken care of a long time back. I've not had any feeding / loading problems at all.
Very happy after almost two years of use of my Galahad Carbine.
The LOOK! Beautiful design...shoulders effortlessly. "Indoor" quiet, yea, that good. Phenomenal accuracy. Very well balanced.
Things I Would Have ChangedShave a little off the grip...massive in hand.
What Others Should KnowOk, now for the ugly...mine came with a loose barrel band (set screws were missing). After 50+ shots the indexing mechanism conked out on me. It wouldn't align pellet with breech hole fully causing the pellet probe to contact pellet skirts thereby damaging them (so long accuracy). Tech at PA offered to send set screws for barrel band...and to fix indexing mechanism (very helpful people there), but I was snake bitten and returned the Galahad and got an Ultimate Sporter instead.

This may sound dumb, but yeah, I did it. I bought a second .22 Galahad just because of the walnut stock. I got the wood stock version vs. the black version that I've had for a while. So Yeah, I like the wood (walnut) stock much better than the black version. The rest of the gun has shown to be the same. Although, while I did adjust the black guns trigger a fair amount to get it where I like it, the wood guns trigger was adjusted to a glass breaking touch of the trigger. Not overly "light" but but very fast and smooth. As good or better than many rifles sold today ( I have a "few"). The Galahad was designed with elements that were a bit ahead of its time, the trigger for one. Overall, the rifle is very solid
Things I Would Have ChangedAs with the rest of the Galahad line, that are a little heavy. Although it's not too much of a bad thing when shooting offhand. The weight is mostly from the center of the gun back, so this actually helps stabilize the gun while aiming. Some complain about various things, I have really nothing to complain about, after owning one for some time now. A more solid barrel, see below.
What Others Should KnowI don't know if Pyramyd will print this, but... In the photo, and a couple of places in the writeup of the wood stock "carbine", it said that the gun has a suppressor attached.
My gun did not come with a suppressor, outside of the internal baffles in the shroud.
I see that they've changed the photo, but they missed altering some of the wording that says the gun will have a suppressor !!
One thing that any buyer NEEDS to do. Loosen the two small fasteners that hold the barrel support/band, near the end of the barrel/air cylinder. In some cases, the barrel may move to one side or the other. After loosening the two screws. Now without touching the barrel, retighten the two screws in the barrel band/support. Your gun will be more accurate and consistent.
The barrel on both of my guns were forced off center by apparently, bad assembly practices. I don't think that packaging would have moved the barrel during shipping. Once the two screws are tightened, that's a solid support.
