There is nothing that I liked with the outcome of having to deal with the ammo for .50 caliber.
Things I Would Have ChangedPrint the diameter of the ammo we purchase on the boxes , to save us a lot of expensive grief. Pellets and slugs are NOT cheap! I don't think I'll be able to afford the cost of the .510 dia. ammo. Looks like the AF Texan will only be gathering dust. Not everyone owns dial calipers, and therefore cannot measure the diameter of their ammo to see if it's compatible with their air gun.
What Others Should KnowWell the .50 cal AirVenturi ammo works in my Dragon claw, However, if the Dragon Claw requires .495 diameter. seems that I found a discrepancy. The AirVenturi ammo that I purchased in different weights, ALL measured .396X diameter. To me it seem to be more fit to be fired in a .45 cal rifle! They definitely are NOT .495 diameter!
Not being the wiser about the one .50 cal with different diameters, I've suffered the consequences. I took one of those slugs, to try in my Air Force Texan, and placed it in the barrel. Yep! It slid right down the barrel and on to the floor!
It was a good value on a sale, if it only had fit in my Dragon Claw.

As the owner of a 50 caliber Hatsan PileDriver air rifle, I wanted large, heavy projectiles for big game hunting - deer and feral hogs. My preferred load for hogs in the past was a 330gr hard cast lead bullet pushed at around 2,000 fps. This bullet shot from the big PCP air rifle gives approximately the same performance, and should be a dependable hog stopper. I use a suppressor on my .44, and the air gun suppressor I mounted to my Hatsan should make it just as quiet.
