Description

The Benjamin Marauder Semi-Auto PCP Air Rifle with wood stock is Benjamin's first semi-automatic version of the legendary Marauder, and it's been specially engineered with a new 10-shot magazine to virtually eliminate jams. Built off of Benjamin's Field and Target platform, this airgun may look similar to many other Marauder models, but it has a redesigned and upgraded interior with new parts that unleash its semi-auto capability. This air rifle has a regulator that provides a remarkably consistent shot string, and the power can be adjusted with the hammer spring screw.

The new design allows for semi-auto shots as fast as you can pull the trigger, with a cyclic rate of around 300 rounds per minute, depending on the speed of your reflexes, which allows for a very quick follow-up shot. At factory power, it gets 50-60 shots at around 900 FPS with about 22 FPE, while at full power it gets 30-40 shots at around 950 FPS with over 28 FPE. It has a Picatinny optics rail for your choice of optics, and a full-barrel shroud that puts it firmly at the quieter end of the scale.

The Benjamin Marauder Semi-Auto Air Rifle with wood stock provides consistent and accurate semi-auto shooting at a price that's lower than expected for the features included. Whether you're using it to hunt small game or for target practice, this air rifle has what you need. With traditional Marauder quality, refined looks, and premium craftsmanship, you'll definitely enjoy this exciting and fast-firing airgun.

The SAM is a beautiful rifle with a lot of punch and accuracy. I love that I can shoot as fast as I want to with confidence.

I would like to be able to feed a single pellet without using the magazine.

I am new to PCP air rifles. I contacted customer service at both Benjamin and Pyramyd with questions and got amazing, friendly and courteous help. I am very happy with the rifle I bought and where I bought it.

It's semi auto. Really quite quiet. Very backyard friendly. Adjustable cheek comb. Pretty accurate WHEN it operates properly.

Magazine feed worked great for about 50 shots. Then it started jamming. Magazine would regularly become jmed in the weapon. I am using Crossman Premium pellets. VERY DISAPPOINTING!! I DID NOT BUY AN $800 PCP, only to have to return it within a week. The magazine is a big problem!! I would NOT recommend this weapon to anyone until the magazine issue is (proven to be) resolved.

I have three Benjamin air guns. A Trail, which was billed as being accurate...it is SO not. A .457, which is looking good so far. And now this dissapointment. Looks like Benjamin engineering & Quality Control are lacking! 2 out of three are duds????? I really wanted to like this gun. I wasted a lot of time and money outfitting a huge piece of junk!

I like the semi-auto ,the wood stock, and the trigger is ok for me any ways ,

Like many have said a way the cocking bolt could stay open to load the magazine, its heavy but im in a wheel chair and i bench shoot so its not a problem for me, make cocking a little easier its hard to cock,

I greased the Detent Ball and now its so easy to cock, before i was pulling it all the way back till it wouldnt any more, but now i learned its just a quick pull and its cocked,i have two shooting ranges ,one at 40 feet and the other at 60 feet, i have all kinds of different targets to shoot at, also my accuracy is all over the place, seen youtube videos where they shoot right on target ,it is so much fun to shoot i have 9 magazines,my only real complaint is that it shoots all over the place. But let me tell you i get all my guns from PA and i have bought a lot from them but if you dont have alot of money like me ,they finance thru AFFIRM fINANCE FROM 3months to 12 months ,i usally go 12 months but pay it off earlier.

High Shot Count, Wood Stock with adjustable cheek riser, shrouded barrel, Foster Fill, Manual Safety

Needs to be able to HOLD OPEN THE BOLT!! How are you supposed to clean, or replace the breech oring if you can't hold open the bolt? Requires three hands to load, one to hold back the charging handle, one to insert the magazine, and one to HOLD THE RIFLE! Get a bipod, you will need one! Get extra orings, if you fire the 11th time on an empty magazine, you will blow the oring out of the breech 1 out of 5 times.

Cheek RIser cut out is unsanded, you can still see the saw tooth marks. Trigger is OK, not great. Accuracy is OK (3/4" @ 25 yds, 1.5" @ 50 yrd) 875 FPS for 60 shots 14.3g CHP. After 1500 shots the trigger stopped resetting, The sear needed to be polished. After 500 shots the charging handle started to stick, needed to be worked on with a dremel, it was out of spec.

I like the concept, the look. Looks real too.

Could be lighter, would be nice if there weren't scratches on the stock or marks on the barrel. Maybe after I send it back to the factory for them to repair whatever it's causing the charging handle not to close all the way then I could tell you about accuracy and such.

Really disappointed, I thought that I was paying for higher quality since I paid more. Not to mention Pyramid Air, was not helpful in the purchasing.

I experienced something similar to "By John from USA." When my bolt ran, its steel pin slammed against the end of the aluminum charging handle channel and, in my rifle, it peened the aluminum enough to bulge it against the charging handle with insufficient clearance for charging handle to move freely. It was binding worse when the rear breech screws were at all snugged down, because it closed the clearance. The gun ran fine at first, but the charging handle was binding badly after about a tin of ammo. I corrected the problem (many months ago) by resetting the bolt pin for the correct clearance with the striker pin. It's a complicated process using a milling machine x/y table and dial indicators. I also milled out the bulge that had formed from peening against the end of the charging handle channel. It's best for most owners to just send the gun back to Crosman and then run a couple tins of ammo through it (making sure the action screws are tight) before calling it good.

If you received something that wasn't in 100% fit, form, and function, then return it, and get a replacement. Common sense. Pyramyd stands behind everything they sell. I had multiple bad Air Venturi Nomad II air compressor, and they replaced it every time. Their customer service and sales are top notch. How did you handle the situation? Hope you have had the issue resolved since then.

John Sep 09, 2021

I had the sticking charging handle issue too, but it wasn't the detent ball, it was the tolerances of the charging handle and the receiver. I pulled the 4 screws holding the receiver and took out the charging handle and could see galling of the bottom of the handle and the front of the receiver where they meet. Raw aluminum from being rammed together. I used a dremel on low speed to remove the "high" spots and reassembled. Ever since the charging handle comes back much easier without sticking. The trigger failing to reset after a shot is another problem I fixed myself. On the back of the trigger blade is a small "nub" that rides on a sear engagement, there was a burr you could feel where the two meet. I used a polishing stone to remove the burr and the trigger now resets as it should after every shot. No one should have to open up a new gun multiple times to get it to work properly.

If you cant push it shut then yeah send it back. I had the same problem but then I watched AEAC blog on this very issue. You simply take silicone grease pull the charging handle All the way out and place a P sized amount over that plastic detent ball and rub it in. Then just work the charging handle by pulling it all the way back and letting go. Eventually that sticking problem went away. I will try that first that is only if you can manually push the charging handle all the way in.

The accuracy is excellent. As great as my F&T Marauder with Lothar Walther Match barrel. I love the quick follow up shots. Accurate out to 40 yards so far. The fit and finish are very good. I purchased my SAM when PA had 11% off Black Friday sale!

Make it so the bolt, charging handle can be locked back when inserting the mag. Checkering around the pistol grip would also be nice. Have an optional premium wood stock or synthetic stock available.

The hardest thing is loading the mag. Easiest way is sitting down. Pull the charging handle all the way back until gun cocks and load mag while keeping handle back. Release handle and push in forward assist button above charging handle. Make sure gun cocks when pulling back charging handle. If you don't and gun doesn't fire, pull charging handle back again until it cocks and remove mag. If you don't, chances are a double load will result. This happened to me a couple times.
My SAM loves JSB pellets and Crosman Premiers are good too. Surprise so far is it likes Predator GTOs, but doesn't care for H&Ns to much. Only have three to four hundred shots through gun, so more shot testing needed. This rifle is a blast to shoot!

Excellent accuracy with dime sized groupings at 50 yards. The semiautomatic function, allows you to keep your eye in the scope as you send 10 shots at the target. Incredible fun to shoot and you will go through lots of pellets quickly with that rapid fire capability. The picatinny rail on top is easy to find many brands and heights of scope rings for mounting. I was able to use a swivel mount bipod by Caldwell that works very well (apply screw thread liquid to keep from loosening). Its a heavy rifle and you will want a bipod and / or a sling to carry. Has 2 swivels for easy connection of a Benjamin or other brand sling.

Would be nice if the charging handle stayed back so you could insert the magazine with one hand.

Don't make my mistake. If you get a pellet stuck in the barrel (rare once you find a reliable pellet brand and weight) be sure to follow the instructions and UNCOCK THE TRIGGER BEFORE YOU STICK A ROD DOWN THE BARRELL. The one time I did not do this, I pushed a pellet back into the action and it got wedged in the charger action preventing it from moving fully forward. I had to send the rifle into Crosman who repaired the rifle (2 weeks old) at no cost to me. Crosman did not send me any updates (away x 2 weeks) during repair or notice that they were sending it back .... this is out of the control of PA. Only had 1 jam since then when i tried using Diablo Jumbo Monsters from the test pack - I don't recommend them for this gun = too heavy. No problems with any pellets in the 15 (+/- 2) grain range! For the jam, note that I decocked the gun, gently tapped with a jewelers hammer on to the end of a short rod held against the flat side of magazine and the stuck pellet split easily!

I have shot at least another 1000 pellets with no jams, working great! Excellent accuracy using Benjamin Discovery 14.3 gr, H&N Field target Trophy 14.66 gr, Crossman Premier Hollowpoint 14.3 gr, and Diablo Straton 15.9 gr... Just had to learn the rifle... Get extra magazines... with the SAM you will fire magazines quickly!
