A design collaboration between Andrew Demko and Lynn C. Thompson, the Cold Steel Finn Hawk is the latest in our series of inexpensive hard wearing bushcraft and outdoor tools. Its traditional Nordic styled "Scandi Ground" German 4116 steel blade is sub-zero cryo-quenched for superior edge holding potential, with a steep 7.5mm blade bevel and a functional curving belly for skinning and slicing strokes. Furthermore, its 4" blade is more than big enough for most game processing tasks, not to mention for camp chores and food prep too. The Finn Hawk's handle is two time injection molded. The first layer of high-impact polypropylene is strong, durable and highly weather resistant, while the outer layer (made of TPR rubber) has a whorled spiral pattern providing a food safe, comfortable and secure grip in even the worst conditions. The Finn Hawk is supplied complete with a slim line secure-ex polymer sheath with integrated belt loop.

This knife comes as promised. It is a good addition to my prep sub.
Would give it 5 stars if the sheath weren't so tight. Extremely sharp out of the box. I usually have to hone new knives. This one I didn't. First pull out of the box, the knife was so tight my hands jerked trying to get the knife out. Caused me to nearly put the knife through my left index finger. Least it was a clean cut. Great knife for the price. I'll probably make a leather sheath for it for better ease of draw.
After receiving this knife, I can attest that there is virtually no chance of it falling out of it's scabbard. Detailed work with the blade seems easy, due to it able to make "scalpel sharp" incisions (according to a medical professional) out of the box. Regarding ruggedness, a tumble down a steel staircase ending in a 6' drop onto concrete has not seemed to even mar the blade at all, and it was able to cleanly cut gauze and tape after. That being said, I would advise, no matter how stubborn the knife is to initially come out of the sheathe, to be patient and extremely mindful of the placement of your fingers when drawing the knife for the first time, or having a first aid kit on hand.
The knives are great. The sheaths are not good for quick retrieval or deployment.
I bought it a couple of years ago and it has performed wonderfully since. It fell in between my drivers seat and console and remained hidden there for a while. When I found it, the sheath had several grooves formed in it, but that has not impeded it use as a sheath. Overall, this is a robust knife that fits into a great kit for use both in the field and at home. Well made and definitely a bargain.
I love this knife a lot I typically use it for skinng squirrel and deer and it does a great job at it, but I also wanted to know what the sharping angle is.
I bought this knife a couple years ago. I absolutely love it! It is so comfortable in the hand and holds an edge very well. It’s lightweight but so sturdy feeling. I always take this as a back up for hunting and camping. I’ve used it in the kitchen a bit for veggies and meat, as well as to clean up game meat. In my opinion, I’d be ok paying double for what they’re charging for this knife (not saying Coldsteel should up charge it lol). But that’s my opinion of this knife and wouldn’t mind buying a second to have on hand. Overall, a solid simple but great knife to own. I’ve recommended this knifes multiple times to friends and family.

Got it as a gift for my mother in law makes a great kitchen knife but it’s brittle I used it to cut sugar cane and it chipped still super sharp though slipped and needed to super glue my finger up
