I've had this blade for 3 months now and the length has proven to be adequate for most tasks. It's fairly sharp out of the box, and has survived a few good drops. The weight is also very pleasant to the point where you forget you're even carrying it. I would highly recommend as an EDC.
Got one for my dad. Had to buy one for myself. The steel is so sharp; I do enjoy my cold steel knives.

My recon was an essential part of my gear as a Police Officer. It has cut seatbelts, pried open the most unusual things and even cut off articles of clothing for medical emergencies. It was always up for any task. A trusted old friend! Alas, I broke the tip off trying to help a trucker remove a tail light. Broke my heart. Unfortunately it’s cheaper to replace than repair. But I will never get rid of it. I guess I am sentimental about certain things. I have his big brother, just as strong holds an edge but I miss my little recon. Get one you won’t regret it.
