Description

SIG Sauer breaks into the breakbarrel airgun market with the US made ASP20 Break Barrel Rifle, a suppressed single-shot, gas piston rifle ideal for backyard target shooting and taking down small game.

Available in .177 and .22 the ASP20 uses a gas piston powerplant that is specially calibrated to deliver its pellets downrange at optimal speeds for accuracy and energy.  The added benefit of this powerplant is the ability to shoot in colder weather without sacrificing power as you would with a spring-piston.  Each uses a Glidelite Cocking Mechanism to ensure that your cocking effort is a smooth and manageable 33 lbs.  In the .177 caliber, the ASP20 slings pellets at 1021 fps, and at 841 fps in .22 to dump 20 to 23 FPE into your targets.  This design is based on the notion that subsonic pellets will fire more accurately, a maxim that proves true time and time again among premium airguns.  Built for quiet backyard shooting, those powerful shots are all moderated by an integrated suppressor.

Moving to the action, the ASP20 features an adjustable 2-stage Matchlite® Trigger, designed for smooth and consistent trigger pulls to aid in accurate shot placement. A proprietary drill-pinned Breach Wedge Lock System also aids in improved accuracy by perfectly lining up the action with the barrel.  A long Weaver/Picatinny rail awaits your choice of optics, and all of these features are set into an ergonomic black synthetic stock with checkering on the grip and forend.

All of these options culminate in a superior gas-piston breakbarrel air rifle that lives up to SIG’s legacy of crafting airguns with innovative technology and quality construction that deliver hours of shooting fun.

Heavy gun, but really well-built and super quiet. Doesn’t come with sights, so plan on adding them or a scope. Bought the .177 caliber synthetic and it packs a punch, but recoil is minimal.

I purchased my ASP20 about a year ago. Since that time I’ve been able to run a few tins of pellets through it and I am still very satisfied with my choice. I bought for long distance chipmunk removal (25+ yards) where my .177 had trouble with wind. This gun is super accurate and really is good with any pellet I’ve used but likes heavier (18g) pellets better. Plain and simple, a solid air rifle, powerful and accurate.

Accurracy! 5 shot 1/4" to 3/8" groups at 25 yds. with JSB heavies. The trigger is excellent for a magnum class piston air rifle. The synthetic stock is set up for quick detachable sling swivels. A really nice touch.

I would like to have the butt stock with a straight belly rather than the cut out. It would be easier to use on bench rest bags. The advantage to the cut out is weight reduction and since this is ment to be a walk around gun the lower weight is a good thing.

I tested several different pellets from JSB and H&N, both heavies and midweights. They all shot well and they all had a 33yd. trajectory curve that was so close that they can used interchangeably in the field. Zeros are at 25 and 33 yards.

This is my second Asp20 rifle and they both shoot equally well.

The accurracy! This is my second Asp20, and both of them are equally accurate. 25yd. groups of 1/4 to 5/16", and 50yd groups of 3/4" and often less. This is with JSB .177 10.64gr. heavies in both guns. Just amazing! Very smooth shooting during recoil as well, no vibrations evident. Triggers are quite acceptable for a field gun as well, quite nice actually.

I've shot the first gun for two-ish years now and I'm very well satisfied with the gun overall.

I was asked to clean the Rockchucks out of a friends pasture. None of my shots were over 25yds. All of them were head shots and all of them were clean instant kills. The pellet, JSB heavies .177, all passed thru without trouble. I also use this gun for our local Field Target matches with great success.

Purchased this Sig after having been an RWS user and fan for decades, but trusting Sig from the handgun side. The synthetic stock has a great quality feel, the safety is easy to use, and with the Whiskey5 scope sighting in is easy. I use non-lead pellets, and I have a good circle on targets with them. Highly accurate out to about 45 yards. The only downside is my neighbors initially thought I was shooting a 22, when it is just a 177, and the sheriff officers stopped by twice in the first week - apparently a police officer down the street could not believe it was a 177 and had them come back to me twice, since he was an expert. The only downside is that the click on the safety is loud enough to spook small game, so you need to click in advance and practice good trigger control. The break is easiest with a swift small crack to the barrel with your palm, and then a full crank with your bicep.

I bought the .177 version about a month ago for my sons birthday. This is the air rifle he wanted after doing loads of research and reading the reviews of which there appeared to be no downsides. This rifle came from the store in a still sealed brown box. Therefore, to our knowledge no one ever touched it but my son and I. The very first person to touch it was my son when he opened his gift, the smiles said it all. He placed it back in the box until we got a suitable scope ( Hawke Airmax 4-12x40) and we locked it in the gun safe until today. Overall we were impressed with the build quality and excited to own an American made airgun. Just today 11/04/2020 we took it out of the box, checked the screws - they were tight, made sure it was clean (no solvents or lubricants used as none were needed), we mounted the scope and decided to take it out and sight it in. This is where the rifle lost 2 stars for what should have been a 5 star item from start to finish. Sadly while sighting in the rifle my son loaded pellet #11, took the rifle off of safe, pulled the trigger, but it would not fire as it acted as though it were still on safe. He then shock the rifle and we both heard something rattling internally on what up to this point was a very solid product with no such rattles. After checking to see what may be wrong by breaking the barrel after putting it back in safe mode nothing appeared different except for the pellet still in the breach. I then re-engaged the barrel, took the rifle off of safe, aimed at target pulled the trigger at it fired. By the way she is extremely accurate. I put the safety back on loaded pellet #12, took safety off, aimed at target pulled trigger, again no fire acted as though it was still on safe mode or whatever was now rattling around was jamming the trigger. Once again we checked the rifle, re-engaged the barrel, tried to fire at target, but again the same thing no fire trigger locked up. I repeated the steps again and got it to fire the pellet. I told my son we needed to go back to the store (Murdoch’s Ranch Supply, Helena, MT) we bought it from to see if they could do something for us or see if we needed to send it back for repair. We told the store staff what was happening with the rifle. The staff at the store was great, they saw the disappointment in my sons face (15 years old now) and asked him what he wanted to do by either getting a refund or picking a different brand of air rifle or the same, his call. Well my son has complete faith that we got to first problem child out of the first 3300 .177 ASP20’s produced and I must say so do I. He promptly asked for an exact replacement which the last four of the serial number is 3327. He and I agree that this is the best air rifle on the market, and before we take this one out we are going to make contact with Sig customer service techs to see if there is something we should watch for before we even fire this one. We also intend to get an ASP20 in .22 caliber when they are in stock, this one will hopefully have the wood stock since it will be one I use from time to time.

Genuine engineering, power and accuracy as advertised. The surface finish and welding is exceptional. Solid pest control option. Very effective with scope or reflex sight.

Just received my Sig and this is a nice gun and very accurate. I have shot about 100 rounds so far. I can not say enough for the accuracy of this gun. I am able to stack pellets in an area the size of a dime. It is worth every penny. I highly recommend this gun

We have four grandsons and two granddaughters who will run all 1,000 pellets out of this gun before the end of the year. They would have already done so but this virus has kept us from being with them. They definitely aren't ready to shoot this alone. Maybe next year for the two oldest. Then on to 22 caliber single shot rifles.
