Lay down a shower of lead with the Diana Stormrider!

Since 1892, Diana has produced high-quality airguns that are as reliable as they are accurate. While the Stormrider may not be their first PCP, it’s certainly the most budget-friendly. With a straightforward, no-frills design, the Stormrider’s combination of repeating shots and great features make it a serious contender for one of the best entry-level PCPs.

The first thing you’ll notice is the quality of the German beech stock. It’s sturdy and contoured with checkering on the grip and forend. With a thickness of 1.5 inches wide and a total weight of 5lbs, the Stormrider is easy to handle for shooters young and old.

Hands down, the best feature of this Diana is its repeating shots. Simply load up the rotary magazine and slide it into the breech which secures it into place magnetically. With 9 shots in .177 and 7 in .22, cycle to a new round with a quick flick of the bolt action. Once you charge up the 200 BAR (2900 psi) cylinder, you can send rounds downrange at 1,050 fps (.177) and 900 fps (.22). Additionally, if you want to shoot one shot at a time, a single-shot tray is included.  It also includes open sights with a fully adjustable rear sight and an 11mm dovetail for mounting your own optics.

If you’ve wanted your own PCP airgun but the price has held you back, the Stormrider gives you a budget-friendly PCP design that lives up to the Diana name.

Tech Tip: The front and rear sights are removable. It may be necessary to remove the rear sight when mounting an optic longer than 10".

Things I liked: Size, nice light and compact. Wood stock and trigger are good. The rotary magazine easy to load and use, but like the single shot better. Easy to fill, takes about 50 pumps from air Venturi to fill.

Things I would have changed: Put on a better muzzle break, not backyard friendly at all. I wouldn't use super epoxy on break, Allen screws would be good IMO. I replaced with a tko brake, much better now. Bolt material is soft, it bent, but no problem, I'll replace with another. Rear site needs to be removed, if you want a longer scope. I took it off, easy fix.

What others should know: It's a bear if you want to remove break, I dipped it in boiling water to loosen up epoxy. Then finished with grinder. Crosman premiers are snug in chamber, but shoot just as good as the JSB's.

Things I liked: I like the look, the weight, and overall feel of the rifle.

Things I would have changed: The breech seems to be selective regarding pellets of slightly different dimensions, rough seating on most that I have tried so far, but I will try more. The 7 shot magazine easily feeds two pellets with the breech in this condition, frustrating. I would change how it recieves the pellets and make sure all barrel breech openings and any burrs are honed to a more acceptable spec.

What others should know: Filling the air reservoir to around 175 to 180 bar seems to calm down the tendency for the first few shots to come out too hot and target wildly. If you add an after market moderator, you will need to shim the scope and rezero it, afterwards, all will be fine!

Things I liked: Alot of power in a small platform. It's light weight compared and easier to maneuver with compared to my disco, QB's, and especially any springer. Even with a quieter LDC on it, it's easy to walk with. My disco with TKO is LONG! This is closer to my 2260 PCP with 18" barrel and TKO. The repeating breech is nice, and has dovetail mounts. And my rifle shoots cheap CPHP quite well, got lucky there I guess.

Things I would have changed: The bolt handle could longer and thicker. I feel like it might snap one day, the rifle has a pretty stiff striker spring. The magazine will double feed if you don't get it cocked all the way back. It caused a major jam with baracuda pellets. Had a hard time removing it without damaging the breech/barrel. A forward barrel band would be more comforting, but I don't knock my guns around anyhow.

What others should know: Yeah, get one! I'm getting a .177 in this model soon, fun and easy to fill with hand pump. Shot count isnt that bad, perfect for a small game hunting or varmint control. It his hard, so to me it's not a plinker anyways, so shot count is fine. Around 20 in the power curve is decent for the small air tube.

  • John from USA asked:

The spare O rings included with this gun in mm I.D. X wall are: 5 13x3 1 13x2 2 7x.8 2 6x2 2 4x1.5 1 5x1,5 seat Since mine is the .22 cal, I assume the 4x1.5 is the bolt seal. I'd think someone at PA would identify them. jd

    • HERIBERTO from USA asked:

Hello, when will the upgraded version be available? I have seen it in pyramid insider part2.

      • Tyler from USA:

It will likely be a bit before we see those versions in the US. Probably around summer time

    • Thomas from USA asked:

Is this gun too small for an adult to use

      • Tyler from USA:

I suppose it depends on the size of the adult, but I would say no. Anyone can use this gun pretty easily.
