Cold Steel's Emperor Double Edge Katana is styled to reflect some of the most distinctive hallmarks of Japanese sword design. We use only traditional materials for our Tsuba (guard), Fuchi (collar), and Kashira (pommel) - Each piece is expertly made and finely crafted in nickel-silver. The Habaki (blade collar) is also hand-made from nickel-silver and the hilt is covered in sam (ray skin) and tightly wrapped in the traditional style with black silk cord. A beautiful Menuki (a small, ornamental sculpture inserted between the ray skin and the cord wrappings) further enhances the handles appearance. All of our Emperor swords feature fully sharpened 1060 carbon steel blades that are heat treated to a tough spring temper. The blade is then carefully hand-finished with a beautiful mirror polish applied to the fuller.

i own a lesser katana that an ex GF bought for me years ago. i thought it was decent until i received the emperor double edged katana from cold steel. this sword puts my old katana to shame. i knew it was special when i saw it offered online ( a double edge!??) and i am very pleased that i made the decision to go ahead and buy it. the blade is heavy (more deadly) and sharp AF. the fit and finish on this sword is rock solid. this sword is inspiring with its elegant simplicity and nothing about it says "cheap". looking forward to murdering some melons outside and seeing how scary this thing is just holding it i can tell its no joke...
The sword is great, very durable but it came with black blemishes on the blade that need to be buffed out and the blade could be a lot sharper. I’ve been waiting to buy this sword for 15 years so it’s a bit disappointing.
I bought this in 2020 and its my pride and joy. It's as beautiful as it is deadly!!!

WOW!!!!🇺🇸 This is my first Samurai sword. Absolutely no regrets purchasing this beautiful samurai sword. And this thing is nice, well made, ALSO be careful, it is VERY SHARP! Great fit and finish.
