It's so good it got stolen, wish they made worse knives so I didn't have to worry about thieves.

Excellent fit, weight, and balance. This is our second ceremony engraved knife of this model in the family. Hugely useful and light weight. I’d like a longer pocket clip, but it’s reversible. I’m happy to have the safety, and a firm locking blade knife that is easily checked for flying.

Haven’t really used it much yet, but it has come in handy a few times already.

Nice knife, as the assist works as well as the prior SOG knives that I have used. The very same quality and workmanship is present. The glass/nylon grip is a bit much aggressive, and will take its toll on my pockets.

My Review Is for my son and his need for a knife as a back up for his new Job as a policeman. I went thru all the knifes that were assisted opening, and I came up with this one, He likes it and can use it. I gave him 3 knifes to choose from All assisted opening, But yours was an actually assisted(spring assisted). So that is my review. I actually use a multi tool as my knife, and its a Sog, My son has one I bought him(work)My grandson now has one and I have backup for myself,(all assisted)

It's a nice improvement I think. I've had a Trident tanto for almost 10 years & was heartbroken when I lost it. I ordered this & was so satisfied with it, when I luckily found my original tanto after a few weeks, I retired it due to the fact that this newer generation of blades has all the improvements the old one was missing. Well worth the money & one hell of a sharp edge! Keep it up!

It's a great knife. This is my third Trident Tanto. My previous 2 knives seemed a little bit smaller so were easier to carry. I like the look of the Tanto tip so my reason for a 4 was I am a bit disappointed in that the Tanto tip on my new knife is not very prominent. The traditional straight angles of the Japanese Tanto tip are just not there. At first glance I thought SOG had sent me a drop point by mistake. After looking closer at the tip and packaging it was indeed a Tanto but it is not a very pronounced Tanto. Still a well built and a lifetime knife.

I have been trying to add a couple SOG knives similar to those I had previously purchased. This was not a successful attempt. The knife Is far heavier, so only practical to carry in jeans. Cargos and other lighter fabric pants don't provide enough support. It is also not an easy, one-handed opening. The knurl is in a position hard to get leverage. It's a fine knife, just not what I was looking for.

I am having trouble deploying the blade. The video makes it look very easy but I cannot push the red button to the point that it will deploy. I cannot even budge it. I don't consider myself weak but my thumb cannot push the red button to the point of deployment. Any suggestions?

I used this for 2.5 years.... begrudgingly. When I was shopping for a work/beater/duty/EDC/Do It All knife, this one checked the most boxes. I wanted a true EDC knife to use for whatever. So I wanted a glass breaker, a strap/cord cutter, and assisted opening with a Tanto blade. Those were my stipulations at the time. I bought it and it was great for probably about 8 months. I used it pretty heavily, nearly working with it every day. I cut any and everything I could, I abused it honestly. Definitely pried with it, it got wet with rain or snow or sweat, I've used the blade and back of blade as a screwdriver, cut metal and lots of wood and hard plastic, stripped wire and so forth, used it as a hammer, used the liner as a tool to tighten wing nuts as well, purposefully used this hard outside of its advertised limitations, stored it wet, pounded on it and more. Sometimes I'd do these things just to see if it was worth it. I left it in the weather and purposefully cared for it less than normal. And I performed flawless in those respects. Now it sits in my toolbox. It cuts great, it's very tough, blade shape is awesome and easy to sharpen/maintain, I never ever had a problem with corrosion and it's never not opened. I felt secure having a strap cutter and glass breaking tool always on me and I loved the one handed nature of the design (and the Axis lock). But the pocket clip is horrible. It's so bad I can't carry it anymore. I've had so many good experiences. So many times that I was so glad I carried a knife every day. So many times I abused it and beat it. So many times I was surprised by it performance as a knife and pry bar and screwdriver and reamer and whatever it needed to be. All that good was overshadowed buy the fact that eventually the pocket clip will give out to the point it's unusable. I've adjusted it so many times, I won't anymore. I shouldn't have to. When I saw it in some small amount of reviews at first, I thought the negative reviews were full of it and written by elietest POSs who didn't have to worry about value. I was right, but they happened to be right as well. DO NOT BUY THIS KNIFE. You can't carry it. You'll get it worn in and the pocket clip will catch on everything. You can't carry it, all the cool features are essentially useless. I went back to my Benchmade Crooked River. It doesn't have a glass breaker. No strap or cord cutter. It's not a Tanto. But I can carry it with confidence. And for a work knife that's all that matters. It's so disappointing because they got so much right. The shape of the handles feel good, the steel is fine, it has useful features. Even when I was shopping I had to make the compromise BECAUSE NO SELF RESPECTING CONSUMER WANTS RED ACCENTS ANYMORE. DON'T BUY THIS, But the updated version with no Red, a Tanto blade, a glass breaker, a cord and strap cutter, and A CLIP THAT WORKS, buy that knife. Hopefully they make it happen. This pocket clip is seriously terrible, please do not buy this knife.
