Lay down a shower of lead with the Diana Stormrider!

Since 1892, Diana has produced high-quality airguns that are as reliable as they are accurate. While the Stormrider may not be their first PCP, it’s certainly the most budget-friendly. With a straightforward, no-frills design, the Stormrider’s combination of repeating shots and great features make it a serious contender for one of the best entry-level PCPs.

The first thing you’ll notice is the quality of the German beech stock. It’s sturdy and contoured with checkering on the grip and forend. With a thickness of 1.5 inches wide and a total weight of 5lbs, the Stormrider is easy to handle for shooters young and old.

Hands down, the best feature of this Diana is its repeating shots. Simply load up the rotary magazine and slide it into the breech which secures it into place magnetically. With 9 shots in .177 and 7 in .22, cycle to a new round with a quick flick of the bolt action. Once you charge up the 200 BAR (2900 psi) cylinder, you can send rounds downrange at 1,050 fps (.177) and 900 fps (.22). Additionally, if you want to shoot one shot at a time, a single-shot tray is included.  It also includes open sights with a fully adjustable rear sight and an 11mm dovetail for mounting your own optics.

If you’ve wanted your own PCP airgun but the price has held you back, the Stormrider gives you a budget-friendly PCP design that lives up to the Diana name.

Tech Tip: The front and rear sights are removable. It may be necessary to remove the rear sight when mounting an optic longer than 10".

Please note: Gen. 2 Stormrider packages incorrectly list the overall length as 38.5" while the correct overall length is 40.5" for this version due to the longer moderator.  The correct overall length for the Gen. 1 Stormrider is 38.5".

Things I liked: I recently purchased the Gen 2 in .22 cal. At $200 & made in China I wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised. It is a handsome piece and the quality is excellent. Most accurate pellet for me was the JSB Jumbo Heavy, using single-shot mode. I found that I could extend my shooting time by starting off with heavy pellets, then switching over to light pellets as the power dropped. If you get the extra barrel band, it has a threaded hole for a swivel in the bottom and a set screw on top to tighten the barrel. My barrel was held in with Locktite, and hard to remove.

Things I would have changed: Make the goofy shark-fin front sight and moderator removable. They both are bonded to the barrel. The report is similar to the old pump-up and Co2 rifles. Too loud for back-yard use.

What others should know: The wind-up magazine holds the pellets tightly and that's why they are hard to feed. Using cylindrical pellets might help. It was loose in my gun so I moved a scope ring next to it to make it tighter. I saved a lot by getting the pump on ebay, but I had to fix it to make it work... Some spring guns are just as powerful as this one, with out all the pumping, equipment, and noise.

Things I liked: Really like this rifle. For an entry PCP it rocks. It's light weight and very accurate. Sights aren't bad, but putting a scope on it and the extra barrel band sure helps. It seems to like the crossman premier 14.3 grain in my testing.

Things I would have changed: Add extra barrel band at factory.

What others should know: Worth try this rifle out. I know it's made in China, but I haven't had any issues with it. It pumps up really fast with the hand pump.

Things I liked: Well built, light weight, super accurate right out of the box.

Things I would have changed: Add another barrel support. I bought one to add on but it is the same as the one that holds the front sight, a simple one would be better. Also a stock with 2 inch removable piece would make this the perfect youth or small person rifle that could be adapted for big people also.

  • Michael from USA asked:

Anyone else tried to remove the barrel end-piece/suppressor and had extreme difficulty? I might be able to help.

    • Tyler from USA:

It's not meant to be removed, it's glued on.

  • james from USA asked:

I've recently purchased the gen 2 .22 cal stormrider. After pumping the first time filing to 2900 it leaks air out of the fill port. I replaced the small o ring inside the fill port. It still leaks. I use a small spray of ballistol when reassembling. I only gave it a very light tightening as it was fairly easy to back out. Could it be im not tightening it enough. I can't read the schematic provided in the pa links so I'm unsure of proper nomenclature.

    • Tyler from USA:

Yes, it is possible that it is still not tight enough. If you tighten it further and it is still leaking, give the tech department a call.

  • gary from USA asked:

how do you adjust the trigger on the gen 2 ?
