Umarex Glock 17 Gen4 CO2 Blowback .177 BB Gun
Arguably the most well recognized name in pistols, the Glock 17 is known the world over for it's reliability, shoot-ability and ruggedness. The Gen4 variant is one of the most popular versions, featuring different grip texturing and a larger magazine release. Umarex unleashes this blowback replica, giving Gen4 fans everywhere something to cheer about.
With authentic controls and a full metal, drop free, magazine, the Gen4 17 handles just like the real steel version. Racking the slide is easy with the deep rear serrations and the grip texturing sticks to the hand nicely. Load a single 12 gram cartridge into the mag along with 18 BBs and fire away!
Fitting most duty holsters, whether you are looking to practice with a realistic replica of your favorite sidearm, or you want to get reps in with what you carry, the Glock 17 Gen4 BB replica is ready to go!

Things I liked: I had my guns for 4 months before it broke and by that time it was out of warranty and when I sent them the gun they wouldnt do anything about it.
Things I would have changed: UMAREX .... they did nothing to help with my broken gun and now it just sits in a box.
What others should know: If you gun breaks after the warranty is up they do absolutely nothing.
Things I liked: Most realistic BB gun I have ever held, identical replica to the Glock 17, minus the 9x19 etched in on the barrel. Great weight and feel.
Things I would have changed: The CO2 does not last long at all and its very complicated to install without spilling a little out.
What others should know: If your someone who enjoys racking the slide back and forth a lot be careful because the top of the barrel does wear rather quickly. The paint comes off rather easily, leaving the metal to be exposed.
Things I liked: This pistol looks and feels like a real Glock in your hand. It is lighter and the materials seem slightly different, but it is an extremely faithful replica. The trigger feels lighter than those in my centerfire Glocks. I am using it as an alternative for dry firing, so I would prefer the trigger to be the same weight, but lighter is OK. Reliability is flawless. Accuracy is good, with the caveat noted below. It fits well in my Aker pancake holster.
Things I would have changed: As noted in other reviews, the pistol shoots low. Mine is 2" low at 5 yards. I don't mind very much as I practice at close distances. I ordered an adjustable OEM rear sight but have yet to install it. The process of changing CO2 cartridge involves a number of steps, including using a tool to remove the magazine floor plate and the provided wrench to remove the nut that secures the cartridge. Rethreading the nut into the magazine is a challenge as there is not much to hold onto with your fingers and misaligning the threads appears easy to do. That said, one gets the hang of it quickly. Seating the magazine into the pistol requires a positive insertion. If the magazine catch does not engage, the heavy magazine will drop out and hit your garage floor bottom first before you can react, usually dinging a corner of the magazine. This has happened to me several times.
What others should know: It has a nice pop when you shoot it. My wife says it sounds like a I am hammering a nail. It is not as loud as my Diana 27 break barrel. The blow back action is nice, but it does not have the recoil of a real Glock. I get 3 to 3.5 mags of BBs on one CO2 cartridge, which is perfect for my practice sessions. I am considering purchasing two more for practicing in battery and out-of-battery speed reloads. Given the weight of the magazines, I will definitely do that over a table with something on it to protect the dropped magazine.

What spare magazine works for this gun?
At this time there are no spare magazines available.
External safety slide only moves after the gun has been racked. Is this typical?
Yes/ It is. The Co2 bb guns operate differently than real firearms.
When I did a compare list with the 17 gen 3 and gen 4. It showed that the gen 3 is double action and gen4 was blank. So is the gen 4 17 double action or not? Im assuming it is since it has the blowback feature.
The Gen IV is double action.
