The Springfield Armory M1A has a storied history in the firearms world, and has become one of the most well known and well respected rifles on the market today.  Praised for its accuracy and rugged reliability, the M1A is the civilian version of the battlefield legend, the M14. The M14 was adopted by the U.S. Military in 1959 and remains in limited service to this day!  Shooters rejoiced when Springfield Armory began producing the civilian version, the M1A, in 1974. The rifle quickly gained a following thanks to competition success at the National Matches at Camp Perry.

Under the Springfield Armory license, Air Venturi introduces the M1A underlever.  Keeping accuracy in mind, the M1A is a faithful fixed barreled replica of the legendary firearm. A beautiful wood stock provides the heft and solid feel that real steel M1A owners will love. Weighing in at a hefty 9.9 lbs, the M1A Underlever is almost identical in weight to the National Match version of the firearm.

A true to form, windage and elevation adjustable rear sight peep sits at the back of the action, and lines up perfectly with the fixed front blade to help you place your shots on target. For those interested in scoping this rifle, there are threaded holes on the left hand side of the action that will accept a traditional M1A/M14 mount.

A 35 lbs cocking effort is made easier with the use of an extendable cocking lever, that can be quickly deployed before cocking to gain leverage. Thankfully, this extension doesn't dampen the authentic look of the rifle, as it is hidden within the existing cocking lever. We know you're wondering where you load your pellets, and that is another hidden feature of the M1A. During the cocking cycle, the upper hand guard actually slides forward, exposing a generous loading area and the end of the barrel to load you pellet into.

Those familiar with the M1A firearm will notice another unique and handy feature of the M1A underlever. The location of the release for the anti-bear trap safety mechanism is the bolt catch/release on the left hand side of the action! When you're loaded and ready to close the cocking lever, depress this tab and you'll be able to return the cocking lever home and take aim.

Whether you're a fan of the Springfield Armory M1A or just love realistic replica airguns, the M1A underlever blends realism and utility into an airgun deserving of the legendary Springfield Armory name!

would like to see it in gas piston or pcp, what about doing a m1 garand?

Things I liked:

I was seriously looking at this rifle to add to my collection...but I'm having second thoughts. Overall, I liked the authentic appearance and wood stock. My concern is the plastic inner workings of it holding up to years of use.

Things I would have changed:

Obviously upgrade the parts that are starting to cause problems being reported by current owners. I would definitely purchase this rifle if upgrades were performed in it's weak points. Ditch the plastic sights too.

What others should know:

I would hope the manufacturer is listening to consumers. By redesigning the weak points this rifle could become a true classic.

Things I liked:

Good heavy rifle. Adult size. Its not a speed shooting rifle but accurate in the 177 I have. Reasonably easy to cock. I would buy again if I wanted another springer.

Things I would have changed:

Would like to see it made in a nitro piston. Metal sights would be improvement.

What others should know:

Not kid size. Shoots hard and accurate for me with right pellets. I use gamo rockets. Careful with the sights

  • Airborne from USA asked:

What parts must be removed from m1 pellet rifle (airventuri) to mount the UTG MNT-914V2 side mount any body know?

    • Kelan from USA answered:

      .

  • Phillip from USA asked:

Can you advise on how accurate M1A is, and how consistent the velocity of the M1A, and spring piston air guns in general, are?

    • Francisco from USA asked:

Hello fellow airgunners. In the late 60s I built sniper rifles out of the M14, my M.O.S. was a 2112, precision weapons armorer. This rifle is as close as I've seen that comes close to an M14. I would like to buy a lot of these and bring the up to sniper capabilities with a 10X scope, but I need the compression cylinder diameter and the piston travel, if anyone can obtain that information for me I will greatly appreciate it. All the parts can be upgraded to real wood and steel, but it they will cost a pretty penny. All internals can also be modified and upgraded to better metallurgy material such as the barrel, transfer port, cylinder, piston, spring, pivot point material. The key is to get the same velocity with the same weight pellet then do a ratios and proportions graph and show what the M14 trajectory is in real combat situations, while using the 99 cent bag of toy soldiers, but remember, you only get one shot because if you miss, the little guy with the pith helmet is calling in their fire control and one minute later you will have rocket incoming and a swarms of little people wearing black pajamas in the day. I was also Carlos Hathcock's armorer. Carlos who? A Marine Staff Sergeant with the second highest count in Vietnam, only he preferred the Remington 700, a great deer rifle, which I'm waiting for a replica pellet gun.
