John Wayne 1911 CO2 Pistol
"A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do..."
Throughout his iconic film career, "The Duke" embodied the spirit of true American grit, individualism and bravery. From the sands of the American West, to the Sands of Iwo Jima, John Wayne captured hearts worldwide and portrayed courage in the face of all odds, as only he could. To honor the Duke's legacy, Air Venturi is proud to announce the Officially Licensed John Wayne Commemorative 1911 CO2 air pistol.
An icon in its own right, the Colt 1911 was carried by American servicemen from 1911 to 1986. Recognizing the appeal of this historic weapon, Air Venturi, has faithfully adapted the 1911 for use with .177 caliber ammo.
This one-of-a-kind collector's item features John Wayne's signature emblazoned across its sturdy metal slide, which blows back when fired. Once loaded up, this 1911 is capable of sending 18 BBs downrange at speeds up to 320fps.
The kit also includes 100 BB's so you can get right into the action.
Hold on to your hats pilgrims, you're in for hours of fun on the range!

Things I liked: The 'real feel!'
Things I would have changed: Be nice to have real wood grips fitted.
What others should know: When I first saved to my wish list the price was USD $119, and then the final bill shot up to CAD$240 despite taxes, exchange rate and shipping, it seemed more than a little rough!
Things I liked: I like how it looks and feels. It fires and reloads perfectly.
Things I would have changed: Nothing
Things I liked: I just received it and I will add it to my collection I really didn't buy to shoot I frame them in glass pistol boxes. I loved the used battle worn look I collect all the John Wayne I can find. A real American" not like the disloyal phony lefty loons that are in our face daily.
Things I would have changed: Nothing, It's a nice collectable
What others should know: I would get one now in case they stop making them.

Can the grips be replaced with regular 1911 repro grips?
what is difference between this and a Tanfoglio Witness?
It is all exterior differences. Finish, grips, markings, etc.
Are the grips made of wood or plastic? Also, who actually makes this? It's branded as 'Air Venturi', but it sure looks as if KWC is the manufacturer.
They are plastic. Manufacturer is KWC
