The Athlon Optics Ares ETR UHD 3-18x50 Rifle Scope with APLR6 FFP MOA reticle is optimized to provide superior accuracy for disciplines such as hunting and PRS shooting. It utilizes a 34mm aircraft-grade aluminum one piece tube that is heat treated to improve its longevity, and it has a 50mm objective lens and a high-precision erector system.
This scope uses advanced fully-multicoated lenses with UHD glass to deliver sharp and clear views even in poor weather and low light, and it has XPL protective coating for enhanced protection from dirt and oil. It is waterproof, shockproof, and argon purged so that it offers improved fogproofing compared to scopes with other purging methods.
The Athlon Optics Ares ETR UHD 3-18x50 has a locking windage turret to help avoid accidental movement after it has been set, and a precision zero stop on the elevation turret. The windage turret adjusts in a range of 80 MOA total, and the elevation turret adjusts in a range of 110 MOA total, and both have 25 MOA per revolution and a value of 0.25 MOA per click.
The APLR6 FFP (first focal plane) MOA reticle features full crosshairs in all directions in the aiming portion, etched glass, a central cross, and a Christmas tree portion at the bottom with holdover dots and markings, which fills the reticle on maximum zoom. The illuminated reticle can be activated with variable brightness settings on the portion with hashes and markings.

Great optic. Love the magnification, illum reticle, and adjustability. scope is a little heavier than expected.
In the price point, this is a great optic. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I reserve that for Leupold Mark5HD, Nightforce or ZCO optics. I was looking for a good scope to put on my .243 “truck gun” to beat around and not worry about. This is a good quality piece with surprisingly great glass. I would say its closest competitor would be the Vortex Viper PST. If you’re looking for a great optic in this price range, I would definitely recommend it.
great clarity and has a rock solid simple zero stop. after shooting long range returns to true zero every time. only down side is its pretty heavy. not a bad thing for the gun I put it on.
The clarity has been awesome. The turrets track flawlessly. I wish they had more MOA reticle options, but this is one does more than I need. A little heavy for a mountain hunting rifle set up. But I have it on my rifle for shooting long distance at the range. Has performed in all weather conditions so far. For 55% off, this scope can’t be beat.
This is my second optic from Athlon. The scope is clear, tracks well, and has a generous eye box. Elevation and windage have good tactile clicks during adjustment. Good quality and features that are packed into an affordable price point.

Bought two, one MIL and one MOA. The Athlon Ares 3-18x is an excellent scope, low enough to track targets easily and high enough to make even the longest shots with confidence. The glass is very good, and even in lower light conditions targets were easy to see. Also comes with a lifetime warranty, which I like to have even if I never use it.
Excellent value scope! Highlights are extremely easy to set zero stop and turret adjustments to zero, accurate and repeatable dialing, functional range of illumination, and quality of glass. Easily usable in first and last shooting hours in timber, regardless of moon/weather condition. Seems rugged, haven't dropped. It is heavy, if that matters to you. Does suffer some washout when there's a low sun out front - and sunshades are not included and also nearly impossible to find. Will likely have to use a generic one. Haven't used a scope that would beat this for its price point on Expert Voice if eligible!
