Nice dirk, excellent blade that was sharp enough to shave without of the box. Sheath is nice but appears the stay/guide in the mouth might not last long. That is literally the only complaint. For the money I am more than satisfied.
Great grip on this dirk! Balanced and fits well into scabbard. A sharp blade edge for quick draw cuts plus a devastating point for thrusts.
I bought this as a wall hanger to go with other manly items on my walls and am surprised how good it is for the price paid. I'm sure it would be a formidable weapon if you had the need. Very good quality. No regrets.
Well made dirk with a well carved handle. There was a bit of finish bleed from the handle but it was easily taken care of. I’m very impressed with this dirk and in my opinion it’s well worth the the price. The sheath is much less impressive. It needed a bit of work, some glue, and a vise. But I like the dirk so much that I’m probably going to have a new one made for it whether the glue job works or not. Aye, I think Jamie Fraser would be proud to personally demonstrate this dirk to any members of the British Army he happened upon.
After I cleaned off the oil from the blade, and brought a stone down it length a few times this blade is perfect!
Totally a trip to another time. In terms of quality, as expected from Coold Steel. Only two comments on the use of Dirk, the knife must come out with the edge forward, which cannot be done because the scabbard support ring is on the opposite side. Second, why hasn't Coold Steel produced his little sidekick who would go in the boot or sock? None of these comments force me not to put the five stars.
Well made, sturdy construction. Sheath is well fit to blade. Keenly sharpened and an excellent show piece for costuming and real world. A little too much petroleum on the entire piece requiring a good deal of wiping and cleaning. The petroleum also caused a good deal of staining on the hands from the handle. Otherwise, quality product.
Beautifully crafted dirk. I am a freelance fight director in the theatre and have used it (dulled, of course), in several professional productions of Macbeth. Bought this one as a gift for my assistant on a recent production at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. She loved it!
