The well-balanced beech stock is truly ambidextrous and is extended for greater comfort. The Diana 48 is loaded through a sliding breech mechanism. To get the most accuracy from this powerhouse, mount a scope. It'll come in handy, whether you're shooting at field targets or quarry.
We've recommended a variety of appropriate pellets, which are listed in the AMMO link. You'll need a robust scope & mount, so check our suggestions in the ACCESSORIES link, where you'll also find other shooting gear.

zeroed in with 3 dime sized 3 shot groups at 30 yds. fit and finish are beautiful. great trigger
Things I Would Have Changedfront sight is fat black plastic, for this price it sucks. open sights are horrible on this gun
What Others Should Knowthe gun is heavy, the side lever action is awkward for hunting, great gun for field target.
This is a very nice Springer! I paid the extra to have the gun sighted in and Pyramid did an excellent job. Very accurate and I'm impressed!!!
Things I Would Have ChangedPossibly upgrade the scope, but it's working great for now.
What Others Should KnowMoney well spent! Get one!
Excellent German springer rifle! Waited long time for availability. Get one!
Things I Would Have ChangedThere are 2.5mm ball bearings under rear sight adjustment dial. Easily fall out had to buy replacement. Brighter front sight would be great. I used screaming pink nail polish on mine better yet get scope package.
What Others Should KnowShe is a cannon! Heavy but sturdy. Noodle arms will have trouble cocking.if you get the UTG scope mount I recommend low rings (comes with medium-cant cheek weld)
ordered a model Diana model 48 in 177 cal plus a selection of heavy pellets, received everything in a timely manner an in excellent shape came with a scope an mounts so far have put around 300 pellet of different weights an brands through it . as of right now will shoot the H N Baracuda FT 9.57 gr dime size group at 25 yards .i fill it will get better as it brakes in even more love it so far ,I have an older Diana 34 in 177 an it a tack driver !!
Things I Would Have Changedi wish the front sight assy could be remove an a moderator install i'm loving the gun
What Others Should Knowthis is a vary heavy gun .Do your part find the pellet it likes an it's a shooter
Excellent fit and finish. Nice wood for the stock, good tolerances on the moving parts. Excellent accuracy at 40 yards, with good energy.
Things I Would Have ChangedI am not a great fan of scopes, and probably less so for air guns, so in retrospect I could have done without (but it was offered at an excellent price). This Fall I am going to try a ghost ring sight (which I really like on other long guns) and a red dot (a new type for me). The standard iron sights are okay, but I would like something less fussy.
What Others Should KnowHad mine about 10 years now and still very happy with my choice.
NOT MUCH
Things I Would Have ChangedAFTER ONLY FIRING ABOUT 50 ROUNDS THE COCKING LEVER BENT AND CRACKED AT THE PIN THAT HOLDS THE COCKING ARM OR ROD. THE COCKING ROD ALSO BROKE, IT'S MADE OF THE POOREST QUALITY CHEAP ALUMINUM. i WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE BUY AN RWS PIECE OF JUNK.
What Others Should KnowIF YOU'RE STUPID ENOUGH TO BUY ONE DON'T EXPECT TO USE IT MUCH AND GET READY TO SHELL OUT FOR THE HARD TO FIND PARTS.
I really like this gun.Not hold sensitive, and not loud.Very backyard friendly. Easy to cock. I haven't shot this one a lot, probably only about 200 times. The groups are within one inch. I expect they will tighten up with more use. Seems to prefer a heavy pellet. But as I said I haven't shot it a lot.I purchased the package deal. Not disappointed with the scope. I'm well pleased with my purchase. Good that it comes double boxed. The outer box was scuffed up a bit. However the inner box was good. Gun not damaged.
Things I Would Have ChangedCheckering on the stock would be nice.
What Others Should KnowCheck your stock and trigger guard screws I don't know if mine were loose when I got it. But they were after the first day of shooting. Check your backstop this one hits pretty hard. This gun is on the pricey side of things. But worth the money.
I am very satisfied with this product and the processing of the order. Thanks to Pyramid for putting it together!
This certainly lives up to its reputation. The finish is beautiful and the machine work and operation is amazing. I've been shooting air rifles on my property for several years and have used many different guns from break barrel springers and gas pistons, multi pump and other fixed barrels. They have all had their minor issue and little problems but were all fun to shoot, but nothing compared to this one. I'm thru about 350-400 shots and it just keeps getting better. You do get what you pay for and I'm so glad I finally "pulled the trigger" on this one, it is just better by far than anything else I've had. No problems at all putting 5 shots inside of target the size of a dime at 25 yards. I know break barrel rifles are getting better and are less expensive but they will never be as accurate, consistently, as a good fixed barrel rifle. Spend the money on this, seriously, you won't be disappointed at all.
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing about the gun itself, I would however like to see the RWS silicone chamber oil and the spring oil included in the combo package. Another $25.00 is not a big deal when you're spending this kind of money. Also the old striker combo used to come with a case and that's not the case (ha ha) any longer. It was a bit of a hassle to find a case that fits this rifle with the droop compensater and the scope.
What Others Should KnowI know there's a lot of hype about the brand and type of pellet used and each gun shoots different one better that others. This is true, however, I went straight to the Crossman Premier hollow point, 5.5mm. 14.3gr. These work great, have given excellent grouping and average between 790 and 810 fps on the chrony. They're readily available at most retailers for less than $7.00 per 500 cnt. tin. The biggest thing is to pick one and stay with it, if you want to spend the money for higher end premium pellets, go for it. This rifle is so good that whatever brand, weight and type of pellet you choose, it will put them exactly where you want it.
