Description
The Crosman Shockwave NP QuietFire with scope is a quieter version of the Shockwave NP that has a shrouded barrel that reduces noise. It retains the features of the previous model, the Nitro Piston powerplant that gives shooters the advantage of maintaining performance at lower temperatures while being lighter, quieter, and having less recoil than a traditional spring-powered gun. The Nitro Piston also has less vibration and greater accuracy, exhibits greater longevity, and can be left cocked longer since there's no spring to damage.
The Shockwave NP QuietFire is an accurate breakbarrel air rifle with 2-stage adjustable trigger that's good for hunting or backyard plinking. It comes with a fixed front sight and fully-adjustable rear sight, and also includes an 11mm dovetail optics rail for the included 4x32mm scope or other optics of your choice. The ambidextrous all-weather synthetic stock has a textured grip and forearm for performance under all conditions, and the rubber buttpad helps yield a consistent hold.
The Crosman Shockwave NP QuietFire with scope is a supremely budget-friendly rifle that you can keep ready for small-game hunting or pest control, and it's also fun for plinking. Crosman is one of the most trusted names in airguns, and they've put together a quality package that's a step above what most airgunners expect to find at the entry level. It's tough to find a better performance to value ratio at this price point, especially with a scope included, so get this air rifle today at Pyramyd AIR.

Nice heavy rifle, seems well built
Things I Would Have ChangedHorrible front sight. So thin hard to get good sight picture. Makes a scope essential. I do not like scopes so I modified front sight to make it workable for me.
What Others Should KnowIf you have eyesight issues buy with scope, no modifications of front sight from Crosman. Otherwise good rifle.

What Others Should KnowI'm not easily impressed with most air rifles, and I only got this because of the price point and a bit of curiosity, but it shoots and handles like a high end item. Trust me, been air gunning for over 50 years, and this one out of the box was fantastic. I still have to get the trigger dialed in to suit me, but after the preliminary barrel swab and tightening checks, it shot very well. Then, after a bit of tweaking of the rear sight, I was drilling beer cans at a measured 80 yards on my shooting range. The weight is not too much and the gun is not clumsy. I know I will try a scope on it later, for squirrels and small game. Oh yes, this thing shoots hard. With Crosman Magnums it shoots through both sides of a paint can at that 80 yards. Didn't chrony it yet, but it has to be kickin' it. My old Weirauch cost like 5 times this much, and doesn't shoot any better. If you throw in Pyramid's great service, you get way more than your money's worth. Thanks again, Pyramid.
I'm very satisfied with the gun. It was close to dead on right out of the box at 10 yds. The weight is good. It hits harder than I expected.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe rear adjustable sight moves side to side.
Like this rifle a lot. Not to hard to cock. Nice scope came with it, and was not hard to install or sight in. Accurate and hits hard. Can have lots of fun without getting tired. I give it 5 STARS on all fronts.
Things I Would Have ChangedNot a thing.
What Others Should KnowGreat rifle for the price. If you are still thinking about getting one, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, A BALLOON TO GO UP?
There is no way this thing is only doing 800fps With Destroyer pellets ! This is a formidable air rifle by any standard. Very Quiet and has a great hold and feel to it.
Things I Would Have Changednothing
What Others Should KnowYou will love it...
very strong pellet rifle
Things I Would Have Changedput a metal rear sight on it , and a good scope
What Others Should Knowthe scope is TRASH , the rear sight is trash , i beleive the rifle would be a great rifle if they put a nice metal rear sight on it , or put a decent scope , i dont care for scopes , but if you cant sight in your target the fifle is NOT WORTH NOTHING , the rifle is a great rifle but the sighting aint worth anything !!!
the price
Things I Would Have Changednothing
I haven't had an air gun since my Crosman 760 in the 80s. However, I just moved and inherited an infestation of squirrels, and there are three different species of these buggers on my property (and in my house), not to mention deer mice and groundhogs. I looked into air guns and while I would have loved to drop money on an Edgun Leshiy or a similar gem, I wasn't enamored with the complexities of PCP, though I do like how quiet they are. That left something 1/3 of the price, maybe an underlever for fixed barrel accuracy, like a Weihrauch, Beeman, or RWS. In the COVID era, feeling the financial crush of these times, I kept moving the price range down. That moved me into break barrels. Something like the SIG ASP would be great, but I felt it was too loud. Finally I ended up with this Crosman Shockwave as it was cheap and fairly quiet. I'd rather not have a made in China gun, but here it is. So far so good. 90% of my shooting is inside of 40 yards, and for that it's accurate enough.
Things I Would Have ChangedShould NOT be made in the People's Republic of China. Metal elements on sight adjusters. Better trigger, as I feel most misses come from the heavy trigger, which causes pulling to one side. The cocking effort is good and the integrated baffle stays put, which is better than the little piece of plastic on the end of the Umarex Impact, which I sent right back to Pyramyd and they did an easy swap for this rifle (Thanks guys!). The sights are not as good as on the Umarex, and it offers a lot of left-right slop. I put Birchwood Casey orange paint on it, but it is what it is at this price point. I put a UTG Bug Buster scope on, but ended up sticking with open sights. Squirrels are incredibly tenacious and resilient. While I had several head or lethal body shots, I have also had as many misses, or as many shots they walked away from. For that reason I'm moving my ammo to JSB Ultra Shock Heavy Diablo 25.39gr and JSB Jumbo Beast Diablo 33.96gr. I now believe foot pounds of energy is the key.
What Others Should KnowI've had this rifle for 6 months and put Predator Polymag Shorts 15.89gr, Crosman Premier hollow point 14.3gr, H&N Terminator 16.36gr, and JSB Jumbo Heavy Diablo 18.13gr through it. They all shoot well. I have not put this through a chrony, but it hits with authority. For instance, If I hit mud from a 15-20 foot elevation, the mud jumps and there is a good size hole. It thwacks solid objects like fences pretty good, and goes through regular objects used for plinking. The nitro piston is a plus and it is fairly quiet, thought it is still in the medium loudness category. Without jumping into PCP, I'd love to get a similar gun in the low loudness category (Any suggestions? Some have said the Benjamin Trail NP XL is really quiet). Overall, this is a good, cheap-o varmint gun. It is no family heirloom, but on the plus side it doesn't need to be babied and is easily replaced. That said, I'd rather have any of the Walthers or SIGs or Wiehrauchs in a similar configuration. Maybe someday . . .

They've packed a lot of features I was looking for into a cheap gun. Powerful, Nitro Gas Piston, sound suppression, and iron” sights along with the scope. The power is impressive for my intended range (100’ and under).
Things I Would Have ChangedMay just be mine, but consistency/accuracy has been poor. “Iron” sights are terrible, both in design and materials as others have mentioned. I modified mine so the rear sight doesn’t shift side to side, which helped, but the front blade is still too narrow. Better QC on barrel rifling. Not sure how to address what I think of the scope. Not sure if mine is good or bad based on other issues. Shooting with the scope seems more inconsistent than with iron sights so far, so I’ve pulled it off and set it aside. I may try a red dot and see if that helps me any.
What Others Should KnowMine is likely a dud. This gun is cheap so Im not considering the warranty. I may buy another since it has the features I want so much cheaper than others. My issues could be due to poor rifling (pushing a pellet through is rough- it almost gets stuck in a couple spots), or due to resonance with the sound suppressor. At 10m Ive yet to achieve a group of less than an inch with either iron sights or scope. Ive put over 1k pellets through it of different types. I use the “artillery hold” and swabbed barrel, etc. Crosman premier wadcutters and super-domes are the best so far. Gamo magnum pointed and crosman pointed are way off of others. My groups seem to change locations on the target each time I pick it up. Maybe the sight shifts more than I realize. Sound suppression is good, but it’s still fairly loud (like a brad nail gun maybe?) I removed the sound suppressor for tests, without much change in groups. You can unscrew the suppressor using some lock ring pliers.
