Description
Built for stealthy hunting and accurate shot placement, the Gamo Whisper Fusion Mach 1 air rifle is a leader in quiet shooting. Outfitted with a 3-9x40 scope, it's a hunter's dream when it comes to quiet, precise shooting.
Equipped with the Whisper Fusion sound moderator, the Whisper Fusion Mach 1 is the most discreet air rifle Gamo offers. Combine that with the enhanced IGT Mach 1 powerplant, and you experience faster velocity, more power and even better precision. By using a gas cylinder versus a conventional spring, air rifles furnished with the IGT Mach 1 offer smoother cocking and shooting, no spring torque, no spring fatigue, no issues shooting in cold weather, and a much longer life than a spring powered gun. The IGT Mach 1 allows you to cock the gun and wait before taking your next shot without worrying about any weakening of the metal spring. You'll also notice a lot less twang and vibration.
The synthetic stock has a comfortable, ambidextrous cheekpiece, making it ideal for right- or left-handed shooters, and for added comfort, the Whisper Fusion Mach 1 has rubber inserts on the grip and forearm. The buttpad incorporates the Shock Wave Absorber (SWA) for more recoil reduction. And while the Mach 1 gas piston seriously reduces vibration, the SWA recoil pad stops you from feeling most of the recoil from the remaining movement of the gun.
The air rifle features the smooth and predictable Custom Action Trigger (CAT) that allows you to tailor the trigger to your own personal preference. And, only Gamo offers the Recoil Reducing Rail (RRR). Designed to subdue the stress on your scope, the RRR absorbs shockwaves and reduces the stress on the internal components of your scope by almost 100%.

Best fixed sights I've seen on a pellet rifle. Balance and weight perfect.
Things I Would Have ChangedCocking effort reduced.
It shoots ok and it's not so loud. I have the .22 version and it shoots the Crosman round nose 14.3g pellets really well, what's not to like about that. It's a solid 20 ft/lb class pellet rifle.
Things I Would Have ChangedIt's a little rough on the mold seems of the stock. I took a sharp knife and cut those more like you want to fit your hand. That scope that is boxed with this rifle is nothing more than an insult plain and simple. Then, the effort it takes to cock this rifle, it should be a legit 30 ft/lb class pellet rifle. There is also the issue of cleaning the barrel. I have had trouble with the baffles catching strings from the patches I push through the barrel. The strings get caught where the two halfs of the baffle system fit together. More of the rough seams of the molding. Once the strings are snagged in the baffle area, you can't remove them. I tried blowing them out with air compressor, twisting a .22 cal bore brush just in the muzzle end in hopes of snagging the strings of the patch. I have used a high quality pair of tweezers to latch on and pull them out, all to no avail. Not made to remove and take apart, so you can't go there either. Not sure how you clean the barrel
What Others Should KnowIt's a heavy rifle and it is extremely hard to cock. The barrel bore gets extremely nasty as you shoot it, I like to patch mine till they are clean. Unfortunately I don't recommend it because of issues in the baffle assembly you can't fix.
No brass, copper or any other metal brushes goes in the bore of any pellet rifle or rimfire of mine, ever. This barrel with the baffle setup is a problem to clean.
Then your scope mounts and rings need to really be tight as everything moves towards the rear of the rifle if not.
Should get yourself a 20moa mount for this rifle also.
When I mounted the new scope I bought, I put a .02" shim under the rear scope ring and my point of impact only needed a small adjustment left to sight in this rifle at 50 feet. Leaving all of my elevation adjustment to shoot with.
so far so good. Product working perfectly. very satisfied.
Everything the feel, the effort to cock, the accuracy and the quietness matched with how hard it hits
Things I Would Have ChangedIt would be perfect if it had the 10rd mag
What Others Should KnowYou get what you pay for I think its worth it even enough to write a review
I opted for the .22 cal. . I liked that I was able to email Pyramid air for specific info before my purchase. The rifle was spot on, sighted in with the fiber optic sights, right out of the box. The trigger pull is very smooth. The noise level was a little better than what I expected. The rifle is sturdy and well built. Balanced. I like where the safety is located. I am having a ball shooting this! It is a good looking rifle. I expect this rifle to last long enough to be handed down to my grandchildren.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe weak point is the scope, but at this price point, it makes sense. Note that the directions do not tell you to take the scope out of the rings and mount those first as there is a set screw that needs to be tightened into the gun rail system that can only be accessed that way, before the scope is completely mounted . It takes some effort to cock the rifle. After 15 rounds I had a sore shoulder. It would be nice to have an upgraded scope available, but again that is where Pyramid Air comes in. But, This rifle has great sights, and the scope is not really needed.
What Others Should KnowSee above for additional info on mounting the scope. I believe that may save some scopes from self destruction after 15 shots. Not all pellets are created equally and I had to go thru several before I found one that provided consistent accuracy for this particular rifle, at the range I will be doing most of my plinking.(40 yards and in) I started out thinking I had a scope problem and I actually had a pellet problem. I had the best luck with Crossman Premier 14.3 gr domed hollow points.
This rifle has great balance. Cocking is very smooth as is returning it to the firing position. The lock up feels solid and secure. I did not think I would ever be able to say this, but I have observed the accuracy of this rifle as being just as good as my Weihrauch HW50 S. It is that good. I am a big fan of the UTG Bug Buster scope and have one on my Gamo and HW50S. Yes, I took off the Gamo Scope that came on the rifle and mounted it on my Gamo Silent Cat. Zeroing the Bug Buster scope, I covered my last 5 shots with a dime at 20 yards. Another thing that I like is this rifle, like my HW50S, loves Crosman Premium Pellets..in this case the 10.5 grain domed ultra magnum. I was told when I called to order this rifle that the Crosman 7.9 grain pellets that I have plenty of would go supersonic. Being a hard head, I had to give it a try off my back porch. It did go supersonic and I immediately went back in my house so my neighbors would not see me if they looked for the source.
Things I Would Have ChangedAs much as I like this rifle I will say that advertising that it takes 32lbs of effort to cock it is misleading. I am guessing that it is closer to 40. Having said that, I am 75 years old and can cock it the first 10 or so shots. After that it takes both arms. I have only fired from a sitting position so I do not know how hard it will be from a standing position when going after crows and squirrels.
What Others Should KnowThis rifle is unbelievably quiet when firing the 10.5 pellets. My firing position is just a few feet away from a Ring camera. Playing back the footage confirmed that the sound a pellet makes hitting my metal target trap at 20 yards is much louder than the sound the rifle makes in firing. This rifle is also very powerful. I fired into a left over deck board and the pellet penetrated 3/8 to 1/2 inch. While I cannot cock and fire this rifle for an hour or so like I can my HW50S, I can manage about 30 minutes before my arms tire. I think this rifle is easily worth the selling price. I love this rifle,
The accuracy won't leave you wanting. Dimes at 25 yards and I'm reading about folks who are achieving darn near a dime at 50 ! I believe it. POWERFUL. This is my first "adult" air rifle and I'm impressed. I'm able to send a 14.3 gr Crossman Hollow Point at 840 fps. for 22 ft. lbs. of energy. A 21 gr. at 760 fps. and 27 ft. lbs. and a 30 gr. at 670 fps and 30 ft. lbs. at the muzzle ! So far I've only verified the accuracy of one pellet and that's the Crossman I just mentioned but it definitely likes em'. Not particularly loud. The moderator alters the sound of the shot so it "could" be mistaken for something else. When shooting it seems a bit louder but from 20' away outdoors it's nothing.
Things I Would Have ChangedIt should be offered for less. I think $280 is a bit steep. If you ceased including that cheap scope with it you could drop the price $20 overnight. Although the moderator is relatively effective, it's an eye sore. Not so much the moderator but the rest of the polymer jacket. Aesthetics - My opinion.
What Others Should KnowBad shoulder or back ? You may have trouble manipulating the barrel. It's pretty stout.
Accurate at 40 yrds. I use Hades pellets. .177 I shot at 1inch spinners and can hit it 7 out of 10. My 3 and 4 inch bell and gong I hit 9 out of 10. Easy cocking I think for the power. I'm 60. Feels comfortable holding it for shoots. Not overly hold sensitive. I don't use the artillery hold and have good results. Very happy the gun over all.
Things I Would Have ChangedScope is ok to start out with but, a better scope or cheaper, or no scope option. So you can put that money towards a better scope that about 90% of air gunners upgrade to would be nice.
What Others Should KnowGrate at putting pellets down range with power. This yr. my gun put a hole in my 1 inch hard wood back stop. Hits hard. But like most air gun shoots better with one kind of pellet over another. I get cheap results with cheap pellets, and it will not even load the piranha pellets. I've had the gun two yrs. Nothing has gone wrong with the gun, the quality looks like it will work for years to come.
This air gin is accurate with crossman hollow points at 100ft. The stock feels good and well balanced. I added a UTG 3 x 9 scope which fit perfectly. Not sure a longer scope will fit.
Things I Would Have ChangedDon't include a scope with the air gun, because the scope that is included adds no value to the gun.
What Others Should KnowThe cocking effort is very high. Gamo and many sites show 32lbs. The gun is very hard to cock. This has a 33mm cylinder which is the same as the magnum, which is around 41lbs. I think the cocking effort is incorrectly shown on the sites.

Best break barrel .22 multi shot rifle out there; I have at least 100 different variations of air rifles in all different calibers and I go to this one when I need to make a very tough shot; Gamo air guns are great
Things I Would Have ChangedA little quieter if that’s even possible
What Others Should KnowMulti-shot comes in handy when hunting; a younger person may have a hard time breaking the barrel but for me 6’ 240 lbs no problem
