The Hatsan Mod 65 Breakbarrel Air Rifle utilizes the most-successful features from their break barrel lineup to create an instant classic. With lead pellet velocities up to 1100 FPS (.177), 800 FPS (.22), or 700 FPS (.25), and energy up to 18 FPE (.177), 20 FPE (.22), or 23 FPE (.25), this air rifle provides both convenient features and powerful shots for small-game hunting, pest control, and plinking.
With a rifled German steel barrel to deliver accurate shots and a QuietEnergy full shroud with an integrated moderator that results in shots that are quieter than competing models, this air rifle is at home both in the backyard and in the woods. The fully-adjustable two-stage Quattro Trigger system adjusts for both travel and pull, so the metal trigger blade yields a crisp and clean break.
The Hatsan Mod 65 offers an attractive Turkish walnut ambidextrous thumbhole stock highlighted by checkering on the pistol grip and forearm to provide a firm hold in the presence of moisture, as well as an adjustable Monte Carlo cheekpiece, and a ventilated rubber buttpad and the Shock Absorber System to further lower vibration and felt recoil.
In order to aid accurate shot placement, this air rifle includes an Optima 3-9x32 scope and mounting rings that attach to the 11mm dovetail optics rail grooves on the receiver. In addition, the break barrel has a red fiber optic fixed front open sight and a green fiber optic rear open sight that is micro-adjustable for both windage and elevation.
To get an air rifle with a Turkish walnut stock that is easy to use for both beginning and expert shooters, buy the Hatsan Mod 65 Breakbarrel Air Rifle at Pyramyd Air today.

Accurate. Quiet except for the mechanical noise of the piston. Light. Beautiful. You may want a better scope- but honestly the scope that comes with it is fine. I have no plans of replacing it.
Things I would have changed:I really can't think of anything to change that would not break the laws of physics (if you could magically make it a 90 FPE gun...) This airgun is that good and is that honest of a product.
What others should know:I wanted another gun with its own powerplant (in this case a spring piston) for plinking and fun shooting that does not require lots more energy. Saves my compressor from working as often. This product is as honest as it gets. I asked Pyramid Air staff to do the chrono and set scope $20 deal. The chrono numbers are honest for the advertising. Did not need useless hyper light pellets to get the numbers you see advertised. Hatsan's customer service is almost nonexistent, so I trust Pyramid Air with Hatsan purchases to make sure the product is working correctly. Pyramid Air is amazing to buy from. Very well informed. Very polite. Will make "it right" when it is needed. I am not hunting with this gun- but if there is a nuclear/zombie apocalypse this is a perfect gun to live off irradiated squirrel meat. No need for a compressor. Will take small game at reasonable distances humanely. I can see hiding in my cave from the zombies and eating irradiated squirrel.

The short answer is everything. The stock is not only pretty but light and forms to your body well. The cocking effort is very manageable. Yes you will want a better scope but the one with it is just fine. Very accurate. The noise of the shot is very low, the mechanical noise of the piston generating the power is of course noticeable but not bad. The velocity is right on for the advertisement. I wanted a second decent spring piston powered gun for my yard to give my compressors a break on days Im just plinking. This gun is incredible. It does still have the power to hunt small game or pest control if thats what you want. Certainly dead on accurate to make that happen. The trigger is great out of the box. Very little creep. Fun and tons of awesome!
Things I would have changed:Oh you could say more power or this or that. Within what is reasonable for the mechanics and physics of a spring piston powered airgun this truly hit the goal of a well rounded gun. Hatsan did indeed make a gem and kept the price tag down.
What others should know:Buy one. I got bored and lit an old pumpkin on fire and shot a smile face into it. Certainly gave me joy after hours of yard work.

I like the thumbhole stock and cheek piece. The rifle fits good and operates smoothly. The trigger is the best trigger on an air rifle for its price.
Things I would have changed:I'm not crazy about the barrel shroud and "muzzle brake". It works fine but I would prefer a regular barrel (like the model 65) The sights are ok. They need better springs, more positive click stops. They work fine for ranges 50 yards and under, they just aren't a high quality iron sight. They are better than most other budget airguns. It's still noisy and "twangy" after 2000 shots. It buzzes. So does the model 65. It's shoots great. But it's not the sweetest shooting air rifle. The screw behind the trigger backs out fast. Loctite helps but the back screw on this rifle gets loose quickly. A closer fitting fine thread screw and better bearing in the stock would be a great improvement.
What others should know:It's a great value. The stock is nice and the gun shoots fine. It's not crazy accurate but it's a great plinker. You can hit golf balls at 50 yards and a beer bottle at 100 no problem. Unless you are into punching paper this rifle is probably all you will need. It handles well and is solidly built. With a good scope of equal value it makes a very good plinker or hunter. It has plenty of power and can probably be tuned to improve the buzzing and jumpy recoil. Put a Phillips screwdriver in your pocket and tighten the rear screw every 30-40 shots and you will be happy with it.
