Diana 54 Airking Pro Air Rifle, Laminated, .177 Caliber
Sold & shipped by Pyramyd AIR
Caliber | .177 (4.5mm) |
Max Velocity | 1100 fps |
Stock | Laminated |
The Diana 54 Airking Pro Air Rifle with laminate stock adds a beautiful red and black laminate pattern to the legendary German line. Capable of velocities up to 1100 FPS in .177 and 900 FPS in .22, this air rifle has the power and accuracy needed for a variety of tasks, including small-game hunting, pest control, and plinking.
One of the best features of the Airking Pro is Diana's famed recoilless system that allows the action to move within the stock when fired. This removes the typical felt recoil springers are known for, and creates a smooth shooting experience that is more similar to a PCP rifle.
This air rifle now comes with a stud on the forearm to attach a bipod for additional control and accuracy. In addition, the stock also includes checkering on the grip and forearm, plus a rubber buttpad, for a firm hold and proper fit.
For additional flexibility, a two-stage adjustable T06 trigger is included, and the familiar sidelever action also contributes to smooth and reliable shooting. An 11mm dovetail rail sits atop the barrel for adding a scope.
To get an air rifle with stunning looks, recoilless shooting, and the precision necessary for small-game hunting and more, buy the Diana 54 Airking Pro Air Rifle with laminate stock today at Pyramyd AIR.

Unless you have had the pleasure/privilege too fire the Airking 54 its impossible to put in words it truly is King of the Air an if it isnt let me know so I can put it in my cart
Things I would have changed:Can we get a .25 cause nothing needs to be changed on this masterpiece
What others should know:Recoilless means 0 recoil absolutely zero

Very accurate and powerful.
Things I would have changed:better quality control
What others should know:At the first shot I noticed the trigger guard was loose, when I attempted to tighten it the screw just spun. Second after a few shots the cocking lever was not catching the notched rack making cocking the rifle difficult. I then needed to remove the stock in order to investigate the problems. I removed the stock and found that the wall thickness between the screw and the relief that was milled into the stock was paper thin and had broke out. The fix was epoxy to build up the wall. The rack needed to be held in place so it would not catch on the slot it rode through. Both of my fixes seem to be holding up after 75+ shots. The rifle is very accurate and the side lever is easy to master, it's not a rifle for any one with weak arms or shoulders. I am disappointed that "German quality and engineering" failed on this rifle. The two mentioned conditions present in my particular rifle tend to be of Chinese quality.

I just bought the Diana54 Air Pro in the red laminate and I didn’t shoot it much yet. My question is I can move the barrel up and down all of the time by hand and it doesn’t feel right to me. I have a similar model in the Beeman and it acts nothing like this side lever too. Should I be able to move the barrel at all times? Thanks beforehand
Does the recoilless design do anything to make the rifle kinder to scopes? I have a mode 48 and a model 52 as well. They both absolutely destroy scopes. It's a shame because the rifles are extremely accurate and it would be nice to be able to have good optics on them.
The recoilless design is harder on scopes, since only the barrel, receiver and scope move during the shot, which is less mass than in conventional springers, where the entire rifle and the upper body of the shooter move. A smaller mass accelerates more for a given force (F=ma). It's the big accelerations (g's) that destroy scopes. I know a champion field target shooter who uses a zero-recoil (ZR) scope mount on his Airking. This allows the scope to slide back and forth, so that I doesn't move very much as the rifle accelerates beneath it. Here's a great article on ZR scope mounts: https://www.ctcustomairguns.com/hectors-airgun-blog/march-14th-2016
Are theses still German made barrels. Had a 34 model when they tried to use Chinese barrels it was junk shot 6 inch groups at 7 yards

Received my Air King Pro on 9/25/23 in perfect shape . Fit and finish is second to none , some will like it and some won't . So I installed a bipod and just set it somewhere to admire it . The trigger was absolutely the best I have ever used . Better than some pcp's . Smooth.
Things I would have changed:Out of the box mine would not fire ? The sear would not catch , so I had to adjust the trigger . Really ? On a 800.00 rifle ? Unheard of ? Not the end of the drama though , on the second and third try the action came loose from the stock . Really ? Come on ! On inspection the C-clips that hold the rear recoil pins in place took off or were never installed ? And people complain about Gamo's ! Almost 3 Gamo's could be purchased for the price of this mess . I thought about keeping it , but thinking about what would happen next got the best of me . Returned for a full refund . Diana should be more proactive before any air rifle leaves there factory .
What others should know:The side lever takes significant force to engage . The lever needs to travel the full length in order to engage the sear . I had several attempts that it didn't engage the trigger , so pulling back all the way did the trick . Mine produced 18 to 19 fpe in 22 caliber with a 14.3 grain Hollowpoint averaging 700 fps . After every outing I would remove the stock to make sure the C-clips were still there . No other issues happened , thank goodness . My scope ran out of elevation so I installed a barrel droop mount .
